This is Rev. 1:1. Revelation is the last book of the Bible. It was written by John, while he was in exile on the Isle of Patmos.

This is Psalm 1:1. There are 150 Psalms in the Bible, many written by David.

This is Exodus 1:1. Exodus, which means journey, is the story of Israel's journey out of Egypt.

This is Ezra 1:1. The proclamation Cyrus made was for people to build "the house of the Lord".

This is from Job 1:1. The entire quote is: "There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil."
7. Name the book of the Bible that starts with: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."

Answer: Genesis

This is the very first sentence in the Bible, and probably the most widely known, so I didn't give a hint.

Answer: Esther

This is Esther 1:1. Esther is the story of an orphan whose uncle gets her married to the king, and they end up saving the Jewish people from being destroyed by the evil Haman.

Answer: Acts

This is Acts 1:1. The book of Acts was written by Luke. This passage is often recognizable because of the unusual name of his friend.

Answer: 1 Corinthians

This is 1 Cor. 1:1. Paul, and his friend, were writing to the Corinthians because word had gotten back to them that the church in Corinth was having a separating their faith from the faiths of the religions around them, causing a lot of problems. Paul writes to give them practical advice on day to day life as they serve the Lord.

This is Heb. 1:1. Hebrews is the only book of the Bible where the first word is "God". Many books of the Old Testament start with "Now" and many in the New Testament start with "Paul".

Answer: Ecclesiastes

This is Ecc. 1:1. Ecc. 3:1-8 is a popular part of Scripture. "To every thing there is a season..."

This is Luke 1:1. Luke was a physician and this shows in his writing style. He is concerned with the facts being presented clearly.

Answer: 2 Samuel

This is 2 Sam. 1:1. Samuel was Hannah's son, whom she gave birth to after the high priest blessed her and said she could have anything she wanted. She dedicated him to the Lord and he was a great prophet.
15. Once again, I'll end with my favorite. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Answer: John

This is John 1:1. The Word spoken of here is Jesus. John was the youngest of the Apostles and called himself "the one whom Jesus loved."
