1. What Sabbat marks the beginning of the new year for most Wiccans?

Answer: Samhain

Samhain marks the start of the new year and end of the old one. Samhain means "year's end" in Scottish Gaelic. Samhain is a good time for scrying, because this is the chief of the Spirit Nights. A child born on Samhain is said to have the gift of second sight!
