Answer: Judges

Moses is traditionally credited with writing the first five books of the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Bible, but he did not write Judges. In fact, Judges was written an enormous amount of time after the death of Moses. For the record, the first five books of the Bible are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. The first five books are known as the Pentateuch.

Tradition holds Joshua wrote a substantial portion of the Book of Joshua.

David is credited with writing more than seventy psalms featured in the Book of Psalms, however, he had no part in writing the books of Ruth, Esther and Jeremiah.

While no one knows for certain, tradition holds the Book of Ruth was written by Samuel and the Book of Esther was written by Mordecai, possibly by someone who based the book on Mordecai's personal records after his death. Meanwhile, the Book of Jeremiah was written by Jeremiah, a prophet of God.

Answer: Amos

Jeremiah, a prophet of God, is credited with writing the book that bears his name as well as Lamentations and 1 and 2 Kings. He was known as the weeping prophet, due to the severe pain he experienced because many Jews were turning their backs to God.

Meanwhile, Amos was the writer of the Book of Amos, part of the Minor Prophet section of the Old Testament.

Answer: Numbers

Numbers is the correct answer. Solomon is credited with writing the Song of Solomon and the vast majority of the Book of Proverbs. (Agur is credited with writing Chapter 30 and Lemuel with writing the first nine verse of Chapter 31.) A little known fact is Solomon is also credited with writing two of the psalms in the Book of Psalms. His contributions are Psalm 72 and 127.

On top of all this, Solomon is also credited with writing Ecclesiastes. For the record, Moses is credited with writing the Book of Numbers.

The Gospels of Mark, Luke and John are three books Matthew did not write. In fact, Matthew is credited with writing only the Gospel of Matthew, the first book in order of appearance in the New Testament. Matthew was a tax collector who left his profession to become one of the original Twelve Disciples of Jesus Christ.

For the record, Mark, who was also known as John Mark, is credited as the writer of the Gospel of Mark while Luke was the writer of the Gospel of Luke and John the writer of the Gospel of John.

Answer: Jude

Jude was not written by Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles. Paul is credited with writing thirteen books in the New Testament, with three of the books being 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians and 2 Timothy.

The two books of Thessalonians were addressed to members of the early church at Thessaloniki. Today, Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece, surpassed by only Athens. Meanwhile, 2 Timothy was addressed to a young and timid worker in the early church known as Timothy.

For the record, the Book of Jude was written by Jude.

Answer: Hebrews

Out of the four books listed, Hebrews was not written by Paul. In fact, no one knows for certain who wrote the book. It must be stressed some scholars believe Paul wrote Hebrews, but many others believe the book was written by someone else, possibly Apollos, Barnabas, Clement of Rome or Priscilla.

Meanwhile, Galatians, Ephesians and Philippians are just three of the thirteen books Paul is credited with writing.

Answer: Acts

Out of the four Bible books listed, Paul is credited with writing Romans, 1 Timothy and Titus. However, Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, did not write Acts - it was written by Luke.

Romans was addressed to members of the early church in Rome while 1 Timothy and Titus were addressed to two workers in the early church. Timothy was the son of a Jewish woman named Eunice and an unnamed Gentile man, and Titus is best known for preaching the Gospel message on the island of Crete.

Answer: 1 Corinthians

1 Corinthians is the correct answer. Luke, a physician and tireless worker in the early church, is credited with writing the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts. The two books are actually two letters Luke wrote to a man called Theophilus. However, no one knows for certain who Theophilus was. However, it appears he may have been a high ranking government official as Luke refers to him as "most excellent Theophilus" in Luke 1:3.

For the record, 1 Corinthians was written by Paul.

Answer: Philemon

John, a member of the original Twelve Disciples is traditionally credited with writing the Gospel of John, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John and the Book of Revelation. However, some modern day scholars dispute the belief he wrote Revelation. They believe the book was written by another man who was also named John. They're entitled to their view, but I am a firm believer tradition has it right.

For the record, Philemon is one of thirteen books Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, is credited with writing.
