Greb and Tunney fought 5 times. Greb dominated the first, Tunney dominated the second, Tunney won the third closely, and the fourth and fifth were no-decisons. These fights were at middleweight and light heavyweight. The first fight was in May 1922, the second in February 1923, the third in December 1923, the fourth in September 1924, and the fifth and final in March 1925.

Answer: McLarnin 2, Petrolle 1

In the first fight, Petrolle battered McLarnin all over the ring in a completely one-sided assault. But McLarnin outpunched and outboxed Petrolle in the next two fights. McLarnin is generally remembered as the better fighter. These fights were at lightweight.

Berlanbach won a close decison in a magnificent 15-round battle for the first fight, but Delaney out-pointed him in the next two fights, both as good as the first.

Kaplan, who was a master boxer, vacated it in 1927. Bass out-pointed Chapman over 15. Bass was defeated by Canzoneri, Battalino defeated Andre Routis for the title after Routis beat Canzoneri, and Kilbane was even before Kaplan got the title.
7. Who was the referee in the famous "Long Count" bout between Gene Tunney and Jack Dempsey in 1927?

Barry refereed the fight. He would go on to referee many other fights. Cappucino was decades after the 20s, and the other two were not even referees.

Leonard and Tendler fought twice. The 8th round was the Ring's Round of the Year in the first fight, when Tendler hurt Leonard badly, but Leonard pulled Lew in a clinch and complimented him, making him believe Leonard wasn't hurt. It was a no-decison. Leonard decisioned Tendler the following year.

Loughran was one of the light heavyweight greats and a slick boxer. He defeated Mike McTigue, then beat Jimmy Slattery in December 1927, Leo Lomski, Pete Latzo twice, Mickey Walker in March 1929, and Jimmy Braddock, who would later win the heavyweight title. He defeated each one.
10. By how many pounds did Jess Williard outweigh Jack Dempsey in their July 1919 bout?

Answer: 58 1/2

Williard, who weighed 245 lbs. to Dempsey's 187 1/2, was expected to knock Dempsey out early, but instead was completely destroyed in their three-round battle for the title.
