Hagler who was middleweight champion from 1980-1987 had a record of 62-3-2 with 52 kayos. Monzon who held the middleweight title from 1970-1977 had a record of 87-3-9 with 59 kayos.

Canto was stopped in 9 rounds by Rodolfo Ortega. Emile Griffith Virgin Island born, won two world championships, Welterweight 1961, 1962-1963, 1963-1966 & Middleweight 1966-1967, 1967-1968. Griffith lost his final bout in Monte Carlo, Italy to future Middleweight champion Alan Minter on July 30, 1977.

Marciano who fought 49 professional bouts never lost and was Heavyweight Champion from 1952 until his retirement in 1956 never fought outside the United States. Ezzard Charles who followed the legendary "Brown Bomber" (Joe Louis) as Heavyweight Champion in 1949 and even defended against the murderous punching Louis in 1950 fought one Alfred Zuany in Juarez Mexico on September 30, 1958 losing a 10 round decision. Charles retired less than a year later. Patterson, Marciano's sucessor who is best known for being knocked down more than any other Heavyweight Champion fought in Stockholm Sweden on several occassions the first time being in 1964 against Dante Amonti scoring a 8th round TKO. Jersey Joe Walcott whose real name was Arnold Cream won the Heavyweight championship from Charles in his 5th attempt at it (Losing Twice to Louis & twice to Charles prior) fought only twice outside the US winning both times, once against Olle Tandberg on August 14 1949 KO 5, the second and final time on May 28th 1950 winning in 10 rounds in Mannheim Germany against Hein Hoff.

Carlos Monzon who lost only 3 of 100 professional fights held the Middleweight championship from 1970-1977, went undefeated in the final 12 years of his career, a span of 87 fights. He also sucessfully defended his championship 14 times(which was tops amongst the middleweight champions until Bernard Hopkins defeated Felix Trinadad for no.15). Monzon fought Emile Griffith on two occassions the 1st time he stopped the Hall of Fame five time world champion (three times as a welterweight, twice as middleweight)on September 25 1971 in Buenos Aires Argentina.

The second time they fought Monzon struggled to a 15 round decision in June of 1973. Benvenuti was stopped on both occassions by Monzon, the 1st time Monzon lifted the belt from the former olympic champion (1960 as a welterweight)November 7 1970.

The second time ended in controversy Benvenuti while knocked down, appeared to be fit and ready to continue when the referee stopped the contest in the 3rd round. This proved to be Benvenuti's last bout the date being May 7 1971. Ramon Rocha also stepped inside the squared circle on two occassions with King Carlos.

They squared off for the first time on Feburary 4 1966 with Monzon winning a 10 round decision and the Argentine middleweight belt. The second time (18 months later) Monzon stopped Rocha in 7 rounds . Monzon was unable to kayo the durable Briscoe in their two meetings. Their first on April 9 1967 and after 10 hard fought rounds a draw was declared. Their second meeting occured on November 11, 1972 in the Buenos Aires. Monzon who was then world middleweight champion, scored a 15-round decision over the formitable Briscoe to retain his title. Monzon stated years later that Briscoe was his toughest opponent.
