1. Millwall completed the signing of the Arsenal goalkeeper Graham Stack on loan. How long was the loan deal for?

Answer: One season

Stack's debut for Arsenal came in October 2003 against Rotherham in the League cup. Arsenal won this game on penalties. He then went on to play in all five of Arsenal's matches in this competition.
2. Who did Arsenal sign Robin van Persie from?

Answer: Feyenoord

Robin van Persie was able to play either up front or on the wing. Robin van Persie was born in Holland on 6th August 1983. He won the Dutch PFA's Best Young Talent for the 2001-02 season.
3. From which team did Manchester United sign Gerard Pique?

Answer: Barcelona

Gerard Pique turned down Arsenal to join Manchester United. He decided to join United because of Sir Alex's record of giving his young players a chance in the first team. Pique mainly played in centre of the defence, but could also play in the left back position.
4. When Mark Viduka left Leeds United who did he join?

Answer: Middlesbrough

Viduka signed a three-year contract with Middlesbrough, but had the option of a fourth year. Viduka was one of many Leeds players that left the club during the summer of 2004, as Leeds had large debts to pay off. Leeds were also relegated, and many of the players left Leeds to play in the Premiership or the top league in another country.
5. Chelsea duo Mario Melchiot and Jesper Gronkjaer joined which club?

Melchoit signed a three-year deal and aimed to get into Europe with Birmingham. Gronkjaer signed a two-year deal with the club. Emile Heskey joined Birmingham from Liverpool, and signed a five-year deal with them. Heskey joined Birmingham before Euro 2004.
6. Andy Griffin left Newcastle United to join Portsmouth.

Griffin signed a three-year contract with Portsmouth. Portsmouth signed him on a free transfer. Andy was with Newcastle United for seven seasons, but only managed to make 90 appearances for them.
7. Which club did Arjen Robben leave, and who did he join?

Answer: PSV Eindhoven to Chelsea

Robben chose to go to Chelsea ahead of Manchester United as he thought that United's best years were behind them. Robben has played on left wing and just behind the strikers. He was voted PSV's young player of the year during his first season with PSV, and he managed to score 12 goals during that season.
8. Which club did Teddy Sheringham join during the summer?

Answer: West Ham United

Teddy's first club was Millwall, then moved onto Nottingham Forest. He only spent one season with Nottingham Forest before Tottenham Hotspur brought him. Spurs was the club that Teddy had supported when he was younger. In 1997, Manchester United brought Teddy, and made his debut for them against Spurs and missed a penalty.

He had a very successful time with Manchester United winning the Premiership, the FA Cup, and the Champions League, in which he came on as a last substitute to score United's equaliser and set up Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's winning goal.

At the end of his contract with United, the club would only offer him a one-year contract so Teddy returned to Spurs. When his contract expired with Spurs in 2003, he joined Portsmouth on a free transfer.

Then in 2004, he joined West Ham United on another free transfer. By the time he joined West Ham, he was 38 years old.
9. Who joined West Bromwich Albion from Birmingham City?

Answer: Darren Purse

West Brom signed Albrechtsen from FC Copenhagen, and Scimeca signed from Leicester City. Facey left West Brom on a free transfer, and he joined Bolton Wanderers.
10. Who left Aston Villa for Leicester City?

Answer: Dion Dublin

Dion Dublin left Aston Villa on a free transfer. Carlton Cole joined Aston Villa on loan from Chelsea, while Marshall left Villa for St Johnstone, and Crouch left Villa for Southampton.
