1. Dean Saunders

Answer: Galatasaray

In the 1991-92 football season, Saunders partnered fellow Welshman Ian Rush in the Liverpool attack, finishing the season as the club's top scorer, as well as becoming the first Liverpool player to score four goals in a European match, when he did so against FC Kuusysi in the UEFA Cup. Following his time at Liverpool, he spent three seasons with Aston Villa before teaming up with his old Liverpool manager Graeme Souness at Galatasaray of Turkey.

After a season in Turkey, Saunders returned to UK to play for Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United before reuniting with Souness again in 1998 at Portuguese giants Benfica. Following his retirement from playing, Saunders spent three seasons as manager of Welsh club Wrexham.
2. Mark Hughes

Answer: Bayern Munich

Hughes was actually a Barcelona player but found himself unable to settle in Spain, so was loaned out to the German giants for a season, where he managed an impressive six goals in 18 games. When his loan was over, he returned to England, once again to Manchester United whom he had left to join Barcelona.
Hughes was capped 72 times by Wales and also managed the Welsh team for five years when he stopped playing for them.
3. John Charles

Answer: Juventus

John "The Gentle Giant" Charles is a legend of Welsh footballers, having played over 700 games without once being cautioned or sent off. He played the majority of his games for Leeds United, whom he captained to promotion from the second division in 1956, and the high regard he is still held in at Elland Road is matched by that of the Juventus faithful for whom he played for five years, winning the Italian league three times and the Italian cup twice.
4. Gareth Bale

Answer: Real Madrid

Bale is Cardiff born and bred, but it was for Southampton in England that he made his professional football debut in 2006. His talent was soon noticed and at the end of the season he was bought by Tottenham Hotspur, with whom he stayed until 2013 before signing for Real Madrid.

After a lack of honours whilst at Tottenham, he has won many at Real, including the Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League in his first season in Spain.
5. Mark Pembridge

Answer: Benfica

Pembridge was always a hard working midfielder, setting up and scoring goals for Luton Town, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday before moving to Benfica of Portugal in 1998 to play under Graeme Souness. He spent just one season in Portugal though before returning to England where he became a vital player for Everton before finishing his career at Fulham.Although a talented player, he ended his career with no major honours, but was capped 54 times by Wales and scored six international goals.
6. Carl Robinson

Answer: Toronto

Midfielder, Robinson from Llandrindrod Wells, spent seven seasons at Wolverhampton Wanderers before signing for Portsmouth and becoming something of a journeyman player, moving on loan to several other clubs before moving to Sunderland in 2004. He also played for Norwich City, before moving to Toronto FC in 2007 and spending three years playing for them in the MLS.

He later moved to New York Red Bulls in the same league and on his retirement from playing, became a coach at Vancouver Whitecaps of Canada and Newcastle Jets in Australia's A League.
7. Rabbi Matondo

Answer: Schalke 04

Born in Liverpool to a father from Democratic Republic of Congo, and growing up in Cardiff, Matondo had the choice of three nations when it came to international football allegiance. He chose Wales and made his senior debut in 2018 in a 1-0 loss to Albania.

In 2019, he signed a four and a half year deal with German club Schalke 04 and scored his first goal for the club the same year in a 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig.
8. James Lawrence

Answer: Anderlecht

When he was 16 years old, Lawrence's family moved from UK to Netherlands, consequently his youth career consisted of Dutch clubs including Ajax and Sparta Rotterdam. His senior career began in 2014 with Slovak team, Trencin, before moving in 2018 to Belgian giants, Anderlecht. Lawrence made his senior Welsh international debut in 2018. in the same game as Rabbi Matindo, which Wales lost 1-0 to Albania.
9. Ethan Ampadu

Answer: RB Leipzig

Ampadu joined Chelsea from Exeter City in 2017, and when he made his debut for the London club in September of that year, he became the first Chelsea player to play for the first team that was born in the 2000s. He made his international debut for Wales the same year against France and in 2019 Chelsea loaned him out to RB Leipzig of Germany for the season, where the international call ups continued to come with games against Croatia and Hungary.
10. Craig Davies

Answer: Hellas Verona

Davies played the second half for Wales against Trinidad and Tobago in 2006, while a player for Hellas Verona of the Italian league. He began his professional career with Oxford United in 2004 and had several clubs during his journey through football's lower tiers, but none so brief as his stay in Verona, where despite signing a five year contract in 2006, he played just one game for the club before homesickness got the better of him. Davies managed to win seven Welsh caps between 2005 and 2013.
