Super Bowl IX saw Pittsburgh defeat the Vikings 16-6. The game capped off a 10-3-1 1974 season and was played January 1975 at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Answer: Franco Harris

Franco Harris ran for more yards than the Vikings racked up the whole game! He rushed for a Super Bowl record 158 yards and one TD. The Steelers had 333 yards of offense to the Vikings 119 yards. Franco was inducted into the 1990 Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Blount was a third round draft pick out of Southern University in 1970. He played the cornerback position for the Steelers 1970-1983 and was a fearsome opponent. Finishing his career with 57 intereceptions, he had 11 in 1975 and was named the league's Defensive MVP. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1989.

Chuck Noll was named AFC Coach of the Year in 1972 after their first trip to the playoffs since the AFL-NFL merger. He was not given the award again throughout his Super Bowl runs. He did earn the NFL Coach of the Year award later in 1989. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993.

Answer: Oakland Raiders

The Steelers lost the 1976 AFC Championship to the Oakland Raiders 24-7. The Raiders went on to win the Super Bowl that year. Not losing hope, the Steelers came back and won the Super Bowl in two of the next three seasons.
