DiMaggio won his 2nd MVP after hitting .357 with 30 HRs and 125 RBI. He helped the Yankees to the World Series title that year. Williams finished second despite hitting .406. Feller won 25 games for Cleveland and finished 3rd. Lee won 22 games for Chicago and finished in fourth.
2. Who won this crown in 1942?

Answer: Joe Gordon

Gordon won after hitting .322 with 18 HRs and 103 RBI. Gordon led the Yankees to the World Series where they lost to St. Louis. Williams once again finished second and hit .356. Fellow Red Sox teammate Johnny Pesky came in third after hitting .331, and St. Louis Browns shortstop Vern Stephens finished fourth while hitting .294.
3. Who won the AL MVP in 1943?

Answer: Spud Chandler

Chandler won it with a record of 20-4 with an ERA of 1.64. He helped the Yankees to their third straight pennant and second win in three years. Appling finished second and hit .328 for the White Sox. York finished third and hit 34 homers for Detroit. Johnson finished in fourth and hit .280 as a Yankee.

Newhouser went 29-9 with a 2.22 ERA to led the Tigers to second place that year and win his first MVP. Trout, who also played for Detroit, won 27 games and finished second. Stephens hit .293 and finished third for the Browns. Yankee Stirnweiss hit .319 and finished fourth.

Answer: Hal Newhouser

Newhouser won his second straight AL MVP after finishing the season with a record of 25-9 and an ERA of 1.81. He also led the Tigers to the World Series Title. Fellow Tiger Mayo, hit .285 and finished second. Stirnweiss led the AL in batting average and finished third for New York . Boston's Ferris won 21 games and finished fourth.

Williams hit .342 with 38 home runs and 123 RBI to win his 1st AL MVP. His Red Sox won the AL title but lost to St. Louis in the World Series. Newhouser finished second after winning 26 games for Detroit. Doerr hit .271 and finished third with the Red Sox. Pesky hit .335 and finished fourth, also for the Red Sox.
7. Who won the MVP in 1947?

Answer: Joe DiMaggio

DiMaggio won his third AL MVP after hitting .315 with 20 HRs and 97 RBIs. The Yankees beat Brooklyn in the World Series that year. Williams won the Triple Crown but still finished second. Cleveland Indian Boudreau, hit .307 to finished third. Page won 14 games and saved 17 more for the Yankees to finish fourth.

Answer: Lou Boudreau

Boudreau hit .355 as player-manager for the World Champion Indians. DiMaggio hit .320 and finished second. Williams hit .369 and finished third. Stephens had 137 RBI and finished fourth for the Red Sox.
