3. Which Hall of Fame great was nicknamed "Three Fingers"?

Answer: Mordecai Brown

Brown pitched from 1903-1916, mostly with the Chicago Cubs. His finest season was in 1909 while going 27-9, appearing in 50 games, and leading the league in innings pitched with 342.2 and 34 complete games. The hall inducted Mordecai in 1949.

Known for the wad of chew in his cheek, the 12-season career outfielder began his career with the Mets in 1985. Lenny made two World Series appearances. He won a ring with the Mets, then lost with the Phillies in 1993 to Toronto. He retired as a Phillie in 1996.
5. Which 200-game winner and former Baltimore Oriole pitcher was nicknamed "Gimpy"?

Answer: Milt Pappas

The others weren't pitchers. Milt spent nine seasons with the Orioles. He won in double-figures 16 times in his career with his best season in 1972 as a Cub, going 17-7. Pappas retired after the 1973 season. His name went to a Hall of Fame vote only once in 1979, and he came away with a pathetic 1.2% of the ballot voting.
6. "The Lip" is a fairly well known nickname of which player and manager?

Answer: Leo Durocher

As a player, Leo played for four teams from 1925-1945. The three-time All-Star retired as a Brooklyn Dodger. He was also well known for his mouth against umpires, and was ejected many times in his career. As a manager, one of the most memorable moments was when he yelled an expletive at an umpire stating that he was blind.

The umpire replied, "What did you say?". Leo replied with, "My God, you're deaf too!" Leo was tossed from yet another game.

He made it count by hitting two home runs against the Red Sox, but walked away without a World Series ring.
10. Which Major League manager was nicknamed "The Tall Tactician"?

Answer: Connie Mack

Mack is a milestone for managers, and his longevity will never be duplicated. He managed the Pittsburgh Pirates for three seasons from 1896-1898, then took over the new Philadelphia Athetics in the American League in 1901. He held the reins of the team until 1950. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1937.
