The World Relays is a biennial event, with the first three editions (2013, 2015, 2017) taking place in Nassau, Bahamas. In the 2015 games, the U.S.A. won the gold medal in the 4x100 metres relay race with a timing of 37.38 seconds. The team representing Jamaica, consisting of Nesta Carter, Nickel Ashmeade, Kemar, Bailey-Cole and Usain Bolt won the silver medal with a timing of 37.68 seconds.

Usain Bolt won his lone gold in the 4×100 metres relay race at the 2014 Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow. His other teammates were Jason Livermore, Kemar Bailey-Cole and Nickel Ashmeade. In 2016, a urine sample of Nesta Carter from 2008 was found to be containing the stimulant methylhexamine. Jamaica was stripped of the gold medal in 2017. Trinidad and Tobago received the gold medal, Japan the silver and Brazil being promoted to bronze.
