The Bulldogs compete in the West Coast Conference (WCC) with St. Mary's, Santa Clara, Pepperdine, San Diego, Portland, Loyola Marymount, and San Francisco.
2. What player stood as the school's all-time assist record holder upon graduation in 2000?

Answer: Matt Santangelo

Matt Santangelo retired with 668 career-assists. He was the only player of the four alternate answers to graduate in 2000, thereby giving away the answer. Santangelo played from '97-'00 and was the starting PG for the '99 team that pushed eventual NCAA champ UConn to the brink in the Elite Eight.

Answer: John Stockton

Stockton, a no-brainer for the Basketball Hall of Fame, played his college ball for the Bulldogs before being drafted by the Utah Jazz at No. 14 in the 1984 draft. Stockton went on to lead his team to 19-consecutive playoff appearances before retiring in 2003 as the NBA's all-time leader in assists (15,806) and steals (3,265).

He was also a gold medalist as a member of the '92 & '96 Dream Teams, and was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History ('96).
