The teams were the Baltimore Terrapins, Brooklyn Tip-Tops, Buffalo Bisons, Chicago Whales, Kansas City Packers, Newark Pepper, Pittsburgh Rebels, and the St. Louis Terriers.
2. Baseball Hall of Fame inductions began in 1936. Which year saw the first umpire inducted into the hall?

Answer: 1953

The first umpire to enter by balloting was Bill Klem in 1953. Tom Connolly was also inducted with a slightly lower percentage in the same year. It would not be for another 20 years when baseball fans saw the next umpire inducted. He was Billy Evans in 1973.
3. Which of these Hall of Fame greats never wore the number 6 in their Major League career?

Answer: Willie Stargell

Stargell wore the number 8 throughout his entire career with the Pirates from 1962-1982. Mantle of the Yankees, although well known for his number 7, wore the number 6 as a rookie in 1951. Schoendienst wore the his number 6 as a rookie with the Cardinals in 1945. Al Kaline wore the number 6 with the Tigers.

Of the eight teams, they rostered 34 pitchers total. None were left handed. The first-ever left handed pitcher in the National League was Bobby Mitchell in 1877. He pitched for the Cincinnati Reds and had a 6-5 record in his rookie season. He was the only left-handed pitcher in the 1877 season. That particular franchise is not affiliated with the Cincinnati Reds franchise of the 20th Century.

Answer: Levi Meyerle

Meyerle was with the Philadelphia Athletics of the National Association, in the league's first season in 1871. The first baseman batted .492 in the season. Barnes was the first National League player to do this when he batted .429 in 1876 with the Chicago White Stockings. Lajoie was the first American Leaguer to take a batting crown in 1901 with his .4265 average. Cobb didn't win a batting title until 1911 when he batted .420.
6. Which team had the unfortunate honor of being the first team in National League and baseball history to have a perfect game thrown against them in 1880?

Answer: Cleveland Blues

Of the others, only the Cleveland Blues existed in baseball in 1880. Baseball's first perfect game happened in 1880 in the National League. The Worcester Ruby Legs had 23-year old Lee Richmond on the mound against the Cleveland Blues on June 12. No runs, no hits, no walks, no errors.

The Ruby Legs won the game 1-0. The first perfect game thrown in the American League was via Cy Young in 1904, pitting his Boston Americans against Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics.

Answer: Nap Lajoie

Lajoie with Cleveland won the first four batting titles of the American League from 1901-1904. He won his fifth in 1910. Ty Cobb of the Detroit Tigers was the next to win five crowns. He won his first in 1907, then his fifth in 1912. Cobb went on to win six more batting crowns after that.
8. Who was baseball's first pitcher to win 30 games in a season while wearing glasses in 1878?

Answer: Will White

White was not only the first pitcher that wore glasses to win 30 games in a season, but the first documented baseball player to wear glasses, period. Will was in his second season with the Cincinnati Reds in 1878 when he went 30-21 in the season. He went on to be a 40-game winner three times before he went another 34-18 in 1884. White retired in 1886 after only 10 seasons with a 229-166 career record.

The other pitchers listed weren't born yet for at least 60 years.
9. Which of the following Hall of Fame inductees was voted into the hall with the lowest percentage of the balloting?

Answer: Cy Young

The others were inducted in the 98% balloting range, while Young was inducted in 1937 with 76.1% voting, 1.1% percent above the minimum allowable ballots.
10. Who was the first third baseman to win three batting titles?

Answer: Bill Madlock

Madlock played with six different teams from 1973-1987. He won four batting titles throughout his career. They came in 1975 and 1976 with the Cubs, then in 1981 and 1983 with the Pirates. The others listed were all catchers.
