1. Of the following, what other name referred to the Hershey Bears?

Answer: Chocolate and White

Although at different times in their history, the Bears' jerseys have appeared more maroon than chocolate, and they have been called the "chocolate and white" for seemingly forever.
2. Who was the first Bear to have his number retired?

Answer: Mike Nykoluk

Nykoluk held numerous records upon his retirement in 1972. Many of those records still stood for many decades. For these reasons, his number 8 was retired and was the first retired number attached to a Bear.
3. Who is "Mr. Hershey Bears Hockey"?

Answer: Frank Mathers

Mr. Mathers is not only one of several Hershey Bears in the AHL Hall of Fame; he was also inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. He was a player for Hershey, but his real claim to fame in Chocolatetown was as a coach. He coached over 1200 games through 17 seasons. 16 of those seasons the Bears made the playoffs, including 6 finals appearances, and 3 Calder Cup titles.

Answer: They were a perfect 12-0 in the playoffs

It was the 50th anniversary season, and after a 50-win season (also a team record at the time), they gave the Hershey faithful quite the anniversary gift, by not losing a single playoff game and sweeping to the Calder Cup. No AHL team before or since had matched this feat.

It was actually their fourth trip to the finals.

Hextall was the first goalie in NHL history to actually score a goal (Billy Smith was credited with a goal, but by a technicality).

Answer: Hershey Park Arena

Originally known as the Hershey Sports Arena, the Bears played at "the old barn" for over six decades. It was also the site of Wilt Chamberlain's famous 100-point game. The Arena also hosted concerts for some of the biggest names in entertainment, from Sinatra to Metallica, and from Elton John to Johnny Cash. The Bears later played at the Giant Center.
8. What is the name of the Bears' mascot?

Answer: Coco

He first came on the scene at the start of the 1978-79 season. He appeared in the crowd during play and on the ice during intermissions.

Answer: Milwaukee Admirals

The Admirals were seeking their second title in three seasons, but were denied by the Bears in 6 games.

The Bears had been the farm club for the Flyers for nearly a decade prior to this until they moved their farm team to Philadelphia as the Phantoms, beginning a huge heated rivalry between the two clubs. The Bears had previously been affiliated with the Bruins and Caps, and were later the farm club for Washington.
