1. In what year were Leeds United formed?

Answer: 1919

While they spawned from a team called Leeds City (1904-19), It wasn't until 1919 when Leeds United were formed. The club also moved into Elland Road in this year.
2. Who was the club's first manager in their history?

Answer: Dick Ray

Dick Ray was the manager for the 1919-20 season. Fairclough managed the team between 1920-27, followed by Ray again (1927-35), Hampson (1935-47), and Edwards was the manager for the 1947-48 season. Leeds have had some famous managers in their history, including Don Revie, Jock Stein, Billy Bremner and George Graham.
3. In which season did Leeds first win the old Division One title?

Answer: 1968-69

Leeds won the title with 67 points, 6 points ahead of second played Liverpool, who had 61. Leeds went unbeaten at home this season, and only lost two games away from home, 3-1 against Manchester City, and 5-1 to Burnley. After that defeat, they went on a five month unbeaten League run. Leeds won the old Division One title again in 1973-74, and 1991-92 (the last before the formation of the FA Premier League, 1992-93).
4. Where did Leeds buy Nigel Martyn from in 1996?

Answer: Crystal Palace

Martyn began his career with Bristol Rovers in 1987, where he stayed until Crystal Palace signed him three years later in 1989. On 26th July 1996, Leeds finally signed the talented goalkeeper.
5. Which of these scored the most League goals in one season for the club?

Answer: John Charles

Born on 26th December 1931, 'The Gentle Giant' as he was known, scored 42 goals in the 1953-54 Division Two season. He scored a total of 154 goals in 318 games for Leeds between 1947-57, before moving on to play for Juventus, then back to Leeds for 3 goals in 11 games.

After leaving Leeds for the second time, he moved to Roma, and finished his career with Cardiff City, in his native Wales.
6. How many days in total did Brian Clough stay as Leeds manager in 1974?

Answer: 44

Clough then moved on to Nottingham Forest in 1975, when he stayed as manager until 1993.
7. Which team did Leeds beat 8-0 in 1934 to set a record for their biggest League win?

Answer: Leicester City

The game took place on 7th April, 1934. Leeds finished the season in 9th place, with 42 points from 42 games.

Jack, brother of Manchester United's Bobby, played a total of 629 games for the club.

10. What was unusual about Rio Ferdinand's Leeds career between 2000-02?

Answer: Leeds bought and sold him for a then club record

Ferdinand started his career with West Ham, before moving to Bournemouth on loan. Leeds signed him on 26th November, 2000. He played 54 League games for the club, before he eventually moved to Manchester United on 22nd July, 2002.
