Born in Dublin in 1947 the pacy winger was a fan favourite known for his quick attacking play and knack of getting important goals. He was spotted playing non-league football for Skelmersdale United before being snapped up by the club in 1970. He played for The Reds until 1981 when he left to sign for the Minnesota Kicks in America.
He won 5 First Division titles, 1 FA Cup, 1 League Cup, 3 European Cups and 2 UEFA Cups in his time at Liverpool.

Some people will argue that Gerrard is the greatest player ever to play for Liverpool.
His greatest moment in the famous red was inspiring the team to come from 3-0 down at halftime against AC Milan in the Champions League Final in Istanbul in 2005. Gerrard scored the first goal in an amazing come back to make it 3-3 after 90 minutes and take the game to extra time. Liverpool held on in extra time to take the game to a penalty shoot out which they eventually won after some heroics from goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek.
He scored in the League Cup Final against Manchester United in 2001, the FA Cup Final against West Ham United in 2006 and also the UEFA Cup Final in 2001 against Alavés of Spain.

'King Kenny' was signed by Bob Paisley from Celtic to replace Keegan. Although the fans were unsure at first they soon realised what a bargain they had got. Kenny went on to become a successful manager at Liverpool, having two stints at the job, 1985-1991 and 2011-2012. He also managed Blackburn Rovers from 1991-1995 winning the Premier League in 1995.
He was voted by Liverpool fans as the greatest player to have played for the club in a poll labelled '100 Players Who Shook The Kop' -- a survey of over 100,000 fans in 2006.

He was with the club from 1980 until 1987 when he left for Juventus in Italy. He returned to Liverpool in 1988 after a relatively unsuccessful stay in Italy. He stayed with The Reds until 1996 before leaving for Leeds United. When he left Liverpool he was their all time leading goalscorer.
