Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Rookie quarterback that was drafted first overall in the 2015 NFL Draft

Answer: Jameis Winston

Winston was selected with the first overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft from Florida State University. A Heisman Trophy winner and national Champion in 2014, Winston was selected over strong quarterback prospect Marcus Mariota, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers believed him to be the most established pocket passer in the draft.
2. The 2015 NFL MVP

Answer: Cam Newton

Cam Newton led his Carolina Panthers to an NFL-best 15-1 season, easily winning the NFC south and securing his first MVP award. The Panthers would eventually win the NFC championship, only to lose to a ferocious Denver Broncos defense in the Super Bowl.
3. Rookie quarterback who achieved a perfect passer rating in his NFL debut

Answer: Marcus Mariota

In his first ever professional game, Marcus Mariota faced off against Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in his Tennessee Titans' season opener. Mariota had an excellent game, easily defeating the Buccaneers and becoming one of very few quarterbacks to open their career with a perfect passer rating. Winston, who was selected ahead of Mariota in the draft, threw an interception returned for touchdown with his very first NFL pass attempt.
4. AFC Offensive Player of the Month for October

Answer: Andy Dalton

Dalton led the Cincinnati Bengals to a 8-0 start and eventually won the AFC North title; however, his injuries led to a decline in team performance that lead to a fourth quarter meltdown against fierce rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers to lose the AFC Wild Card game despite holding an excellent late-game position.
5. Retired after winning the Superbowl

Answer: Peyton Manning

Despite Manning's struggles during the regular season, the Broncos' defense led the team to a spectacular Super Bowl win against the Carolina Panthers in a defense oriented-game. Manning promptly decided to retire after gifting Denver their first Superbowl victory of the 21st century, and his second. The Super MVP was Broncos' outside linebacker Von Miller.
6. Regular Season Passing Yards Leader

Answer: Drew Brees

To no one's surprise, future Hall of Fame veteran quarterback Drew Brees led the NFL with 4,870 passing yards. However, due to the Saints lackluster defense, the team was unable to win enough games to secure a playoff spot, finishing third in the NFC South division with a record of 7-9.
7. Led the league with most touchdowns thrown

Answer: Tom Brady

Tom Brady cemented his class with another spectacular season, throwing a league high 36 Touchdown passes and leading his team to the AFC Championship game where the Patriots narrowly lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos due to a missed two-point conversion attempt. Under head coach Bill Belichick, the Patriots won yet another AFC East title en route to their deep playoff run.
8. Led the league with most interceptions thrown

Answer: Blake Bortles

The third overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Blake Bortles' strong arm was the foundation on which the Jacksonville Jaguars' offense was built in 2015. Despite throwing 35 touchdown passes, second only to New England's Tom Brady, Bortles led the league with 18 costly interceptions, as the Jaguars' 5-11 record was no where near securing a playoff spot in the unimposing AFC South Division. Bortles was also the most frequently sacked quarterback in the NFL, getting downed 51 times.
9. Led the Arizona Cardinals to the NFC Championship Game

Answer: Carson Palmer

Palmer's flurry of talented receivers allowed him to pass for almost 4,700 yards and 35 touchdowns (and just 11 interceptions) en route to a NFC West title and an NFC Championship appearance; however, the Cardinals would lose handily to Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers bringing Palmer's impressive season to a close.
10. Led the league with most passing yards per game

Answer: Ben Roethlisberger

Despite losing the total yards title to Drew Brees, Roethlisberger actually held the honor of most passing yards per game (328.2) as he missed 4 games due to injury. The Steelers managed to sneak into the playoffs as one of two AFC wild card teams where they defeated division rivals Cincinnati Bengals before falling to the Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Game.
