8. 1975

9. 1976

Answer: New York Nets

Julius Erving won his second finals MVP award in the final season of the original ABA. His Nets won the series 4-2 over the Denver Nuggets.
10. 1977

Answer: No Champion

The original ABA ceased to exist after the 1976 champions were crowned. The league merged with the NBA and no longer had its own identity, so there was no champion.

In 2000-01 the ABA reformed. It was a different ownership, and basically a new league altogether. The first ever champion of that league was from Detroit. The Detroit Dogs posted a 24-20 regular season record to win the Eastern Division. They were the only team in the east with a winning record. Three of the Western Division teams finished with better records.
