Mormon was unlucky to run into Archer twice. Toryboy finished fifth in the first cup, but won the fifth cup in 1865. Tim Whiffler won the cup in 1867. Interestingly, there were two Tim Whifflers in the cup that year, one from Sydney and one from Ballarat. Sydney Tim was successful. Shadow King was the unluckiest cup runner of all-time.

He ran in 6 cups, was second in 1931 and 1933, third in 1930 and 1932, was fourth and sixth at his other attempts.
10. What finishing position did Kingston Town gain in the 1981 Cup?

Answer: 20th

He only beat two runners to the line that day. Pelican Point was 21st at 80/1, whilst 500/1 outsider, Cocked Hat, finished 22nd and last.
