Question 1 of 15
1. With the 7th overall pick in the 1st round of my draft, I feel lucky about landing this running back. He scored 24 TDs in 2002, 21 of them rushing, and was considered one of the best players in all of Fantasy Football in 2002. Injury worries somewhat downgraded him for 2003, but his NFL team has started well this year, as the final undefeated team this year. Who is this running back? Hint

Question 2 of 15
2. My 2nd round pick was also a running back. His preseason rankings were varied, with both high points (his team traded their #2 WR to Atlanta, he rushed for over 1400 yards and 13 TDs in 2002) and low points (fumble concerns, and the team's 1st round draft pick was Willis McGahee) factoring in. Who is this running back from the AFC East? Hint

Question 3 of 15
3. With my 3rd round pick, I chose one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the league. He had thrown for over 4,000 yards and 26 TD's every year for 4 years straight, 1999-2000-2001-2002, and with Marvin Harrison for a target, he is destined to succeed. His younger brother is currently the quarterback at Ole Miss, where his father played football. Who is this 2-Time Pro Bowler? Hint

Question 4 of 15
4. My 4th round pick, unlike his real life team, has done well so far this year. His team is behind Carolina and Tampa Bay in their division, and with a potentially potent offense, has floundered so far this year. At 3-5, the New Orleans Saints are looking more like the 'Aints of old than anything else. Name this 1st string WR, who was ranked as a Top 5 WR going into many preseason drafts. Hint

Question 5 of 15
5. In the 5th round, I chose another WR. His teammate, Torry Holt, was NFC Offensive Player of the Month of October, with 22 receptions for over 400 yards and 5 TD's. Sadly for fantasy owners, it was his teammate, not him, and he has only 1 receiving touchdown. Name this NFC West wide receiver.

Answer: (Full name or Surname only)
Question 6 of 15
6. In the 6th round, I drafted the 1st defense of the draft. It led many fantasy drafts to championships last year, and led themselves to a championship also. Of course, their championship was a little better, as it was the Super Bowl. Name the Super Bowl XXXVII winners. Hint

Question 7 of 15
7. For my 7th round, I chose a tight end. The "Holy Trinity" of tight ends (Tony Gonzalez, Jeremy Shockey, and Todd Heap) was gone, so I chose my 4th ranked TE. He is one of the most seasoned veterans in the game, and is playing for his original team again after 2 seasons and 1 Super Bowl ring in Baltimore. Name this TE receptions leader. Hint

Question 8 of 15
8. My 8th round pick was my 3rd WR. While he is usually not looked at in scoring leagues (1 TD in all of 2001, 5 in 2002), this Tampa Bay WR isn't a bad pick in yardage leagues. He is most famous for his pleas for the ball when he was in New York from 1996-99. Hint

Question 9 of 15
9. This "perenial Fantasy headache" was just that for my 9th pick. I chose this New England player as a backup, but I released him before the season started. Good idea, too, as he has lost the majority of play to Kevin Faulk. Name this offensive offenseman for the Pats. Hint

Question 10 of 15
10. This "sleeper" Seattle player has done well this season, with 478 yards and 4 TD's receiving for the Seahawks. He is not a running back, and his teammate was picked ahead of him in numerous drafts, despite the fact that he is ahead of his teammate on the depth chart. Name this 4th year player out of the University of Florida. Hint

Question 11 of 15
11. Another favorite sleeper of mine, this Denver player was considered to be a breakout pick this year. A WR from the University of Hawaii, he was a key player as a rookie last year. Hint

Question 12 of 15
12. My 12th round pick was a backup at TE, and has outperformed my original pick so far this season! (Lucky for me, there is a utility spot in my league to start both TE's.) Name the Atlanta TE, who has become one of the few strong points on a Falcon team struggling without Mike Vick. Hint

Question 13 of 15
13. I chose this running back as a backup, and it probably wasn't all that smart of a move. I picked him waiting for his teammate, Michael Pittman, to lose the starting job due to legal issues, and it never came to pass. Name this Tampa Bay running back, traded from Arizona to TB in the offseason. Hint

Question 14 of 15
14. This Atlanta WR was injured for most of the 1st half of the season and failed to produce. Name this wideout, another to suffer from the loss of Mike Vick. Hint

Question 15 of 15
15. My final pick was a kicker. His team has gone through tough exits from the playoffs the last few years, with the Super Bowl last year and the "Tuck Rule" game the year before that. Name this somewhat controversial draft pick for the NFL team that drafted him, but a perenial fantasy stud. Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: Priest Holmes

After an amazing 2002 campaign where, had he not missed the last 2 games of the season, he almost broke the single season rushing TD record , the Priest had stopped all rumors of injury with an amazing beginning to the 2003 season. He had 12 TDs through 8 games, and his 770 rushing yards were 3rd behind Jamal Lewis and Stephen Davis for tops in the league.

Answer: Travis Henry

Travis Henry's fumble problems (11 in 16 games in 2002) kept many from drafting him, but they have stayed away for the most part of 2003 (1 in 7 games).

Answer: Peyton Manning

Peyton hadn't thrown for less than 3700 yards in a season in his career, and was the quarterback for Marvin Harrison's single season receiving record breaking year in 2002. While McNair has done better in the early part of seasn 2003, Peyton has done well as my starter, and as the Colts' starter, as they were 6-1 and leading their division going into Week 9.

Answer: Joe Horn

All 4 are members of the NO offense. McCallister, after being a treasured pickup in middle rounds last year, has struggled fantasy wise through some of the 1st half of this year. Horn has picked up some of the slack, and is tied for 3rd in receiving TD's with 6.

Answer: Isaac Bruce

The former fantasy stud has turned into somewhat of a bomb for scoring only leagues, but has done well yardage wise, averaging over 80 yards per game through Week 9. He surpassed 10,000 yards receiving earlier in the 2003 season, and is the Rams all time leading receiver (Thanks again to bilig for this info!).

However, most owners who chose Bruce most likely had a chance to draft Torry Holt first, which would have been much more productive.
6. In the 6th round, I drafted the 1st defense of the draft. It led many fantasy drafts to championships last year, and led themselves to a championship also. Of course, their championship was a little better, as it was the Super Bowl. Name the Super Bowl XXXVII winners.

Answer: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay defense was a high round pick in many drafts this year, and has not lived up to last year's level. Nonetheless, it has done well, and the name still carries much of the value. Sadly, it is not worth the 1st round pick I have seen some people use on them.

Answer: Shannon Sharpe

Shannon Sharpe, one of the greatest receiving tight end in history, returned to Denver last year after the 2 seasons in Baltimore. He made fantasy headlines in Week 7 last year, with 12 catches for 214 yards and 2 TD's.

Answer: Keyshawn Johnson

Keyshawn's begging for the ball got him national attention, and helped him in the free agent market following the 1999 season. He was signed by the Bucs and caught 76 passes last year under new coach Jon Gruden.
9. This "perenial Fantasy headache" was just that for my 9th pick. I chose this New England player as a backup, but I released him before the season started. Good idea, too, as he has lost the majority of play to Kevin Faulk. Name this offensive offenseman for the Pats.

Answer: Antowain Smith

I'm still questioning my judgement, drafting Smith. I dropped him for Moe Williams immediately following the draft. Smith failed conditioning drills during training camp, and Kevin Faulk has taken much of the workload from him this season.

Answer: Darrell Jackson

Koren Robinson was chosen in the middle rounds of many drafts, and Jackson followed in the later rounds. However, so far this year, K-Rob's 359 yards and 2 touchdowns are less than Jackson's production. Alexander was a 1st round choice in many drafts as a running back.
11. Another favorite sleeper of mine, this Denver player was considered to be a breakout pick this year. A WR from the University of Hawaii, he was a key player as a rookie last year.

Answer: Ashley Lelie

The 3rd WR in Denver was ranked ahead of McCaffrey in many polls due to his youth, speed, and great abilities. He has had more success this year than the veteran. Ed has no touchdowns so far this season, and has missed time due to injury.
12. My 12th round pick was a backup at TE, and has outperformed my original pick so far this season! (Lucky for me, there is a utility spot in my league to start both TE's.) Name the Atlanta TE, who has become one of the few strong points on a Falcon team struggling without Mike Vick.

Answer: Alge Crumpler

Through the first month of the season, Crumpler was the best TE in fantasy football. He is 3rd in yardage and tied for 3rd in TDs with 2 going into Week 9.
13. I chose this running back as a backup, and it probably wasn't all that smart of a move. I picked him waiting for his teammate, Michael Pittman, to lose the starting job due to legal issues, and it never came to pass. Name this Tampa Bay running back, traded from Arizona to TB in the offseason.

Answer: Thomas Jones

I dropped Jones early in the season. Alstott, a perenial Pro Bowler at fullback (though many claim he is more of a tailback than fullback), was placed on the IR this season.
14. This Atlanta WR was injured for most of the 1st half of the season and failed to produce. Name this wideout, another to suffer from the loss of Mike Vick.

Answer: Brian Finneran

The only WR on the answers, Finneran was out for weeks 2-5 in 2003 with injuries, and dropped by many owners. I stuck with him, only to ask "Why?" after watching him put only 87 yards up in 2 games after the injury.
15. My final pick was a kicker. His team has gone through tough exits from the playoffs the last few years, with the Super Bowl last year and the "Tuck Rule" game the year before that. Name this somewhat controversial draft pick for the NFL team that drafted him, but a perenial fantasy stud.

Answer: Sebastian Janikowski

Janikowski had been somewhat disappointing in 2003 in comparison to other kickers, but a kicker is only as good as his offense, and the once fearsome Oakland Raiders offense has slowed down considerably.
