GM Goodwrench stayed on board until Dale Earnhardt Sr's untimely death in the 2001 Daytona 500, but GM Goodwrench stayed with RCR (Richard Childress Racing) until 2008. The reason why Dale Earnhardt Sr. got the nickname "The Man In Black" was due to the car being black with the GM Goodwrench Service Plus sponsorship, until Earnhardt's passing, then the car sported a silver scheme for Kevin Harvick.
