Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In 1987, the first overall draft pick was a player from the University of Miami. Who was he?

Answer: Vinny Testaverde

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted the Heisman winner first. Alonzo Highsmith went third that same year. Bo Jackson was the Bucs' first round pick in 1986 (he went to Auburn). Jim Kelly played for Miami, but he was drafted in 1983. He was the 14th pick.
2. Where did Deion Sanders play college football (and baseball)?

Answer: Florida State University

Deion is personally responsible for the rule requiring FSU players to go to all of their finals or they cannot play in the game. This is why Chris Rix missed the Sugar Bowl. He slept through a final for his 'religion' class in 2002.
3. Kickers Sebastian Janikowski, Martin Gramatica, and Bill Gramatica, all kicked for Florida colleges?

Answer: False

Janikowski went to Florida State, and Bill Gramatica went to University of South Florida, but big brother Martin went to Kansas State. Be on the lookout for Santiago Gramatica, he is a kicker for the University of South Florida 2002 and 2003.
4. Which school did quarterback Daunte Culpepper attend?

Answer: UCF

Answer: True

Steve Spurrier won the Heisman Trophy in 1966 as a Gator. Later, he went on to become the University of Florida's most successful head coach. In 1996, Spurrier earned another distinction, becoming the only Heisman winner to coach another Heisman winner, when quarterback Danny Wuerffel won.

Jevon Kearse played for Steve Spurrier at UF. Edgerrin James and Bubba Franks were Miami Hurricanes and Peter Warrick both played at FSU.
