Maddox has played in the NFL for 4 seasons, but did not do very well. Along with earning MVP honors, Maddox led the Los Angeles Xtreme to the XFL championship in 2001, passing for league-highs of 1,996 yards and 17 touchdowns. Maddox had not played in the NFL since being released by the Atlanta Falcons in training camp in 1997.

With the famed 'Steel Curtain' of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team had defense. Bradshaw had a bevy of receivers in the names of John Stallworth, Lynn Swann, Rocky Bleier, Sidney Thornton, and Franco Harris. In 1979, Bradshaw threw for 3724 yards, threw 26 touchdowns, and ran for 21 of his own.

As a four-year starter, he established school career records for pass attempts, completions, completion percentage, touchdown passes, 200-yard games (14) and efficiency rating (148.1). He was the first Michigan QB to lead the Wolverines to two bowl victories ('93 Rose and '91 Gator).

In '91 as a junior, he led the nation with a 169.0 passer efficiency rating while tossing 19 TD passes to Desmond Howard (Raiders), who won the Heisman Trophy that season. He and Howard own the NCAA record for most touchdowns by the same passer and receiver in a career (31) and single season (19).

He also led the nation with a 150.18 rating as a senior in '92. During his final three seasons, the Wolverines did not finish below seventh in the final AP poll. He led Michigan to four first place finishes in the Big 10 and was 22-2-2 (.857) as a starter in conference games.

His only two Big 10 losses were each by a single point.
