After Richard scored 50 goals in 1944-45, it wasn't until the 1960-61 campaign that Geoffrion, another Montreal Canadien, would manage the feat. Bobby Hull became the third player to score 50 just the next season, while Phil Esposito scored 76 times in 1970-71 to become the fourth 50 goal scorer. Gordie Howe never scored 50 goals in the NHL in one season.
