1. Which defunct Nascar track was home to the first Nascar race held on June 19, 1949?

Answer: Charlotte Speedway

Charlotte Speedway was a .750 mile dirt track located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The first race had its own controversy as Glenn Dunnaway was disqualified from the race despite winning by a three-lap margin. The win was given to runner-up Jim Roper. The triumph would be Roper's only career victory.
2. Which of the following North Carolina cities hosted only one Nascar race in the 1958 season?

Answer: Gastonia

Buck Baker won the race held at the Gastonia Fairgrounds. The September 12, 1958 race was the only race held at the dirt track which was .333 miles in distance.
3. Which of the following drivers won the most races at the Asheville-Weaverville Speedway in Weaverville, North Carolina?

Answer: Rex White

Rex White won 28 races and earned 163 top tens in 233 career starts. He raced from 1956-1964 and won the 1960 Nascar Championship. 34 races were held at the track from 1951-1969. White won five times, Richard and Lee Petty won four times each at the track, and Bobby Isaac won twice at Weaverville.

Other families that won at North Wilkesboro in the track's history that spanned from 1949-1996 included the Petty's, Richard and Lee, and the Allison's Bobby and Davey. After North Wilkesboro Speedway hosted its last Nascar race in 1996, Martinsville became the only original track left that was used in the first season of Nascar 1949.

10. Which 2007 Nextel Cup driver did not earn the first victory of his career at Richmond International Raceway?

Answer: Ward Burton

Ward Burton's first win came at North Carolina Speedway in 1995. Kyle Petty won his first race at Richmond in 1986. Tony Stewart's first win came at Richmond in 1999. Kasey Kahne also earned the first victory of his career at Richmond in 2005.
