Answer: Bobo Holloman

Holloman did this with the St.Louis Browns in 1953. Ironically this was his only Major League season and he was only 28 years old. Strange story behind this one.
2. Which Indian slugging player was afflicted with polio in 1955?

Answer: Vic Wertz

Wertz at the age of 30 was diagnosed with polio. He braved the infliction with treatment and still hit 14 home runs during the season. The following year he belted 32 home runs. He retired with 17 seasons under his belt from 1947-1963.
3. Which team was the first in history to comeback from a 3-1 game deficit to win the World Series?

Answer: Pirates

The 1925 Pittsburgh Pirates held the honors of this one. Under the guidance of manager Bill McKechnie they overcame a 3 games to 1 deficit to win the World Series 4 games to 3. Pie Traynor led the Pirates to this comeback trophy.
4. What pitcher threw Babe Ruth's 60th home run in 1927?

Answer: Tom Zachary

Zachary of the St.Louis Browns dished up this pitch to the King of Swat. Shortly afterwards he was abruptly traded to the Washington Senators. He gave up a total of only 6 home runs that entire season.
5. Other than Rogers Hornsby and Nap Lajoie, who was the only 20th Century right-handed batter to hit .400 in a season?

Answer: Harry Heilmann

In 1923 Heilmann hit .403 for the Detroit Tigers which he played 15 of his 17 Major League seasons with. He retired in 1932.
6. Which Hall of Famer wore the uniforms of all four New York teams (Yankees, Dodgers, Giants, Mets)?

Answer: Casey Stengel

Casey was a New Yorker at heart. He played for the Dodgers and Giants, then managed the Yankees and Mets.

Answer: Willie Davis

"Willie D" who set a World Series record for this negative, produced a slimey glove and rubber arm in this game against the Baltimore Orioles. He committed 11 errors during the season which is high for a center-fielder. During the Series he batted a pathetic .062 average. The Orioles shutout the Dodgers in the Series 4 games to 0.
8. What player was the last in the 20th Century to win a batting title without hitting a home run the entire season?

Answer: Rod Carew

Carew was with the Minnesota Twins at the time in 1972. His season stats were consistent. He played 19 seasons in the big leagues retiring in 1985 with the Angels.
9. What 1970's second-string catcher hit 4 home runs in the World Series?

Answer: Gene Tenace

After the Oakland injury of catcher Dave Duncan during the 1972 season, Tenance who was the 2nd string catcher for the A's finished out the season. He batted .348 and knocked in 9 RBI's in the Series against Cincinnati which the Athletics beat the Reds 4 games to 3.
10. What city produced two Triple Crown winners in 1933?

Answer: Philadelphia

In 1933, Jimmie Foxx of the Athletics and Chuck Klein of the Phillies both won the Triple Crown in each league. Foxx edged out Klein with stats with his 48 home runs. Both players had a stellar year.
