Answer: Tris Speaker

The Triple Crown was one of few awards that Speaker never got. Cobb received his in 1909, Klein of Philadelphia (NL) in 1933, and Lajoie in 1901 with Philadelphia (AL).
2. How many strikeouts did Sandy Koufax provide in his final year of baseball?

Answer: 317

In his short MLB life, he struck out 317 which became the record for pitchers in their final season. He retired after this 1966 season in which he wons 27 games, had 41 starts, and had 5 shutouts.
3. What 20th Century player was the last to hit a home run in every ballpark during the season?

Answer: Hank Aaron

Aaron did this 9 times in his career. The last time was in 1966 when there were 10 ballparks in the league. The Babe did this 11 times in his career, the last being in 1931 when there were 8 ballparks.
4. Which of the following players hit 4 home runs in a single game and lost?

Answer: Bob Horner

Horner did it on July 6, 1986 in Atlanta. His Braves lost to Montreal 11-8. Gil Hodges is the only other 20th Century player to hit 4 big ones in his own ballpark also. Adcock, Whiten, and Schmidt all hit 4 home runs in a game and won.

Answer: Minnesota
