Answer: Houston and Portland

The year was 1984. Houston selected Hakeem Olajuwon, who went on to become great, and Portland selected Sam Bowie, who was plagued by injuries and never became an effective player. Jordan was selected third by Chicago and the rest is history.
2. Who was the first player to average a triple double thoughout an entire regular season?

Answer: Oscar Robertson

"The Big O" is considered one of the best all around players ever in the league. He and Kareem Abdul Jabar led the Bucks to and NBA championship in 1971.

Answer: 5

Magic won in 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987 and 1988. He is definitely one of the best all time players with career averages of 19.5 points per game and 11.2 assists per game.

The list was announced in 1996. Payton is still one of the best players of all time with 2 gold medals, seven straight all star selections, and eight NBA All-Defensive First Team selctions. He also led the Sonics to the NBA Finals in 1996.
