None of the other teams were in the NFL in 1940. The Bears scored seven touchdowns from the ground, one from the air, and two via interceptions. It was 28-0 by halftime, and 54-0 at the end of the third quarter.

Taylor rushed for 135 yards, including a 90-yard first quarter touchdown. He also caught a 35-yard touchdown in the second quarter. A Dan Marino touchdown pass in the second quarter would be Miami's only score, in the 2nd week of the play-offs. Fielder and Brunell threw for two touchdowns each for the Jaguars. The Jaguars went on to lose the AFC Championship Game 4-33 to the Titans.
