1. Which 1998 NFL team had the best season record?

Answer: Minnesota Vikings

The others listed finished the season below .500. The Vikings had a stellar year, finishing 15-1, with their only season loss to the Bucs in week 9. After defeating the Arizona Cardinals in the Division Championship 41-21, they lost to the Falcons in the NFC Championship game 30-27.
2. Which team went a perfect 14-0 in the regular season in 1972?

Answer: Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins did this with an all-star cast. Along with the quarterbacks of Earl Morrall and Bob Griese, the Dolphins had two 1,000 yard running backs in the names of Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris (who also played as kick returner). They went all the way to the Super Bowl and won, defeating the Redskins 14-7.
3. Which quarterback led the 1951 Cleveland Browns to 11-1 season record?

Answer: Otto Graham

Although all great quarterbacks, the others listed did not play pro football yet for a number of years. Graham threw for 2205 yards, with 17 INT's versus 16 touchdowns. He also rushed for 3 touchdowns himself. The Browns' only loss in the season was in their opener to 49ers. They lost the Championship game to the Rams, 24-17.
4. Which of the following coaching greats did *not* have 100 career wins (regular season)?

Answer: Vince Lombardi

Halas' wins all with the Chicago Bears, and Shula's with the Baltimore Colts and Miami Dolphins, both had over 300 wins. Landry had 250 wins with the Dallas Cowboys. It was the great Vince Lombardi won retired with 'only' 96 wins (regular season). All but 7 wins came with the Packers, and the rest with the Redskins of Washington.
Lombardi had 105 wins including post-season games.
5. Who was the first running back to rush for over 2000 yards in a regular season?

Answer: O.J. Simpson

O.J. did it with the Bills in 1973 by rushing for 2003 yards. Dickerson was the 2nd player to do it, by surpassing O.J.'s yardage with 2105 rushing yards in 1984. In 2003, Dickerson's record was challenged by Jamal Lewis of the Ravens with 2006 yards.
6. Two months after President Kennedy was assassinated, which team won the NFL Championship game?

Answer: Chicago Bears

The others listed were all AFL (American Football League) teams. The Bears finished the season with the best record in football. Their only loss in their 11-1 season was to the 49ers, 20-14. They defeated the New York Giants 14-10, in this 1963 NFL Championship Game.
7. Which of the following great arms, threw for over 400 touchdowns in their career?

Answer: Dan Marino

Elway topped the other 3 listed, with exactly 300 passing touchdowns in his career. Marino of the Dolphins in 17 seasons and 242 games, had a TD/INT ratio of 420-252. Amazingly with his great arm, he had no legs, as he rushed for only 87 yards in his entire career.
8. The last NFL team from Brooklyn was called what?

Answer: Tigers

The Brooklyn Tigers' last season in pro football was in 1944. They finished their franchise with a 0-10 season record. They never scored more than 14 points in a game the entire season, and were shutout 3 times. In 1943, the team was called the Brooklyn Dodgers, and had been called that since the franchise's inception in 1930.
9. Which of the following teams/franchises, was the last in the 20th century to go defunct?

Answer: Dallas Texans

The other teams never existed. The Texans' only season was in 1952. They started and finished off their franchise with a 1-11 season record. They allowed the most points in the NFL with 427. They were coached by Jim Phelan, which was his only season of coaching also.
10. Who was the first quarterback in modern-day history, to throw for over 400 pass completions in a season?

Answer: Warren Moon

The others listed were not quarterbacks in the NFL. Moon threw 404 completions in 1991 with the Houston Oilers, against 655 attempts for a 61.7%. He threw 18 TD's in the season, but also had 19 interceptions. The Oilers finished the season 11-5, won a Wildcard slot, but lost in the Division Playoffs to the Broncos.
