He played in two games and recorded nine assists, more than any goaltender in history had ever gotten in a playoff run. The name Hell, didn't stand out in Italy, but in North America the name was unusual and frightening, especially close to Halloween.
3. The Prince of Darkness, Lucifer; call the Devil what you desire but this Slovakian NHL player prefers to be referred to in a different way. As of the conclusion of the 2006-07 season, Satan played in 867 games, recording 321 goals and 323 assists for a grand total of 644 points.

His frightening name is pronounced somewhat differently than it's spelling would indicate. Despite the obvious pronunciation being "SAY-TEN", his name is actually pronounced "SHA-TAN".
4. Yay, this early hockey player had been knowneth to create wonderful pictures on pumpkins. Nay, he did not scratcheth, nor did he burneth his pumpkins to create his pictures. This NHL player's name was Joe who?

Answer: Carveth

Joe Carveth was born March 21, 1918, in Regina, Saskatchewan. Carveth did not actually build his reputation on carving pumpkins, but his thirteen NHL season made him a household name from 1940 until 1951. Carveth played in 504 NHL games, for the Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins, and Montreal Canadiens.

In that time, he recorded 150 goals and 189 assists, making a grand total of 339 points. He did not have a reputation as a pumpkin carver despite what his name might indicate.
5. The last name of this NHL player would make a perfect setting for a horrifying Halloween film. It is synonymous with a lifeless wetland, known to contain all sorts of terrors. The NHL player was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques with their 1st round pick during the 1993 NHL draft. Answer: Adam Deadmarsh

Adam Deadmarsh was a highly touted prospect entering the '93 draft. After being selected in the first round, Deadmarsh had some rather large shoes to fill. In his first season he played in 48 contests, recording 9 goals and 8 assists for a rookie points total of 17.

The injury bug was his weakness. In a possible 820 NHL games, Deadmarsh only appeared in 567 due to various illnesses and injuries. Regardless, in those 567 games, Deadmarsh recorded 184 goals, 189 assists for a total of 373 points. He was also a physical presence, recording a career total of 819 penalty minutes, equivalent to nearly 14 entire NHL games.
6. When the little trick-or-treaters come around for their free candy, it is not only the decorations that make everything scarier, but the light, or perhaps the lack thereof. This NHL player's career and name was very much like the lighting during trick-or-treating. What was this player's name?

Answer: Mike Dark

Mike Dark was drafted 124th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1982 NHL entry draft. Like his last name, his career was dark and always in the shadows. He played in only 43 games in his brief NHL career, recording 11 points and 14 penalty minutes. His most memorable claim to fame was his fitting Halloween-themed name.
7. Horror movies are a big part of the Halloween experience. This NHL player was named after a certain day of the week and a series of horror movies about a 13th day. Who was this hockey player?

Answer: Tim Friday

Defenseman Tim Friday played 23 games for the Detroit Red Wings during the 1985-86 season. In those 23 games, he recorded three assists. He was undrafted and quit hockey two years after his short stint in the big league. "Friday the 13th", was a series of horror movies that were first created in 1980.

They were about a crazy killer named Jason Voorhees who killed people. The first was considered a legendary horror film. Since then, there have been several sequels, including a tie-in film with the "Nightmare on Elm Street" killer, Freddy Krueger.
8. Fire, one of nature's cruelest creations and a Halloween horror movie's dream weapon. The New York Rangers had the privilege of honing the talents of a firey young star before an injury ended his career. This goaltender's name happened to be synonymous with severe fire damage. What was the name of this retired goaltender?

Answer: Dan Blackburn

Dan Blackburn was a first round draft pick of the NY Rangers back in 2001. They chose him because they believed he could be the next big thing for the Rangers, and he could take over starting duties once Mike Richter retired. An unfortunate set of circumstances cut his hockey career short, at a mere 63 games. On October 7, 2003, Blackburn injured his shoulder and missed the entire 2003-04 season.

It seemed he would be allowed to play again once it healed but that just wasn't the case. He ended up damaging nerves in his arm, which completely prevented him from gripping a stick or using a glove with his left hand. Dan Blackburn was forced to retire from hockey at the young age of 22.
9. The dreary setting of a dark Halloween can bring out even the most evil of killers. This 2nd overall pick from the 1995 draft, was never attacked in a Halloween film, but he does share his name with a liquid associated with major lacerations. This player's name was Wade who?

Answer: Redden

Wade Redden was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 1995 NHL entry draft. Despite the Islanders drafting him, Redden never played for them. Instead, he played for the Ottawa Senators. When the 2006-07 season had ended, Wade Redden played in 758 NHL contests, recording 95 goals, 277 assists, and 372 points to his credit.
10. After carving a Halloween pumpkin, a candle is placed into the base to make it show off the picture and create an eerie orange glow. Sometimes the fire damages the pumpkin, turning parts of it black. The last name of this NHL defenseman happens to be the term for what caused the pumpkin's fire damage. What was this player's name?

Answer: Brent Burns

Brent Burns was the 20th overall pick in the 2003 NHL entry draft. In his first four seasons, Burns played exclusively for the Minnesota Wild, recording 12 goals and 35 assists 185 games. Candles within a pumpkin sometimes burn the pumpkin. Reasons could be that sometimes the pumpkin isn't gutted properly so the innards burn, or sometimes the heat from the candle is so great that the pumpkin cannot stand the heat, so it begins to scorch.
