Honus Wagner hit a double off Erskine Mayer to join the 3000-hit club. The unique fact about Wagner's hit was that it is the only time a 3000th hit had been collected off a 20-win or more pitcher in the same season. Mayer won 21 games in the 1914 season, the year the feat occurred for Wagner.
