8th October, 1928 was when Waldyr Pereira, later to become known as Didi came into the world. Throughout his career, he played for 8 professional clubs which were: Rio Branco, Lencoes, Madureiro, Fluminese, Botafogo, Real Madrid, Valencia, and Botafogo. Didi was also inducted into the World Cup Hall of Fame, and was part of the 11 men that were voted the South American team of the 20th Century.
