Eder Aleixo de Assis was born on 25th May, 1957 in Vespasiano, Brazil. Eder only played for two teams outside his own country. He started his career with América Mineiro in 1975, and was much travelled until he hung up his boots in 1997. Eder went on to play for Gremio, Atletico Mineiro (twice), Limeira, Palmeiras, Santos, Sport, Botafogo, Paranaense, Cerro Porteno in Paraguay, Fenerbahce in Turkey, Uniao Sao Joao (twice), Cruzeiro, Baya, Gama, and Monte Claros.

Eusebio da Silva Ferreira was no ordinary player. He played for Benfica between 1960-75, and scored an astonishing 727 goals in 715 games, winning 10 League titles during that time. Eusebio led Portugal to a World Cup semi-final in 1966, where they were beaten by eventual champions, England. Portugal would win the third-place play-off game against the USSR, 2-1. Eusebio hung up his boots in the 1977-78 season, after playing for (as well as Benfica) Boston, Monterrey, Toronto, Las Vegas, and Beira-Bar.

Duncan Edwards was a powerhouse of a man, who played for Manchester United between 1953-58, scoring 21 goals in 175 games. Edwards also played for England 18 times, and scored five goals. The Munich air disaster that claimed the lives of seven of his team-mates on 6th February, 1958, left Edwards seriously ill in hospital. The big man died three days later.
