Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft.

Answer: Both

Peppers was picked No. 25 by the Cleveland Browns. Charlton was picked No. 28 by the Dallas Cowboys.
2. Played 4 seasons as a Wolverine.

Answer: Taco

Taco played a total of 33 games from 2013-16. Peppers played just 27 games from 2014-16. Taco, a defensive end, tallied 91 tackles in college. Peppers, a safety and linebacker, had 125 tackles and also served as a kick/punt returner.
3. Traded for Odell Beckham Jr. in the 2019 offseason

Answer: Peppers

Jabrill Peppers, Kenvin Zeitler, the Browns' first-round pick, and their second third-round pick were sent to the rebuilding Giants in exchange for one of the best wide receivers in the NFL the year before, Odell Beckham Jr. and defensive end Olivier Vernon. Peppers had played two seasons in Cleveland before joining the Giants.
4. Birth name is Vidauntae

Answer: Taco

He was given the nickname of "Taco" by his grandmother before he was born. According to several reports, his mother was on bedrest a lot during her pregnancy with him, and would often see Taco Bell commercials with her own mother there. The slogan "Run for the Border" was in those commercials, and Taco's grandmother started calling him that while he was still in the womb.

The name stuck and was used for him on draft night.
5. Played two seasons in the NFL along with fellow Michigan alumni (And 2016 draft pick) Jourdan Lewis

Answer: Taco

Lewis was a third-round pick of the Cowboys in the same draft they picked up Charlton.
Lewis, also a defensive player (Corner) was the third member of the Wolverines defense to be drafted that year after both Peppers and Charlton. Made for great headlines in Michigan, but left a lot of talent to be filled for the 2017 Wolverines defense.
6. Big 10 Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.

Answer: Peppers

Peppers was the conference's freshman of the year in 2015, and defensive player of the year as a sophomore. After his junior season, his last in the NCAA, he was named the Nagurski-Woodson Defensive Player of the Year, Butkus-Fitzgerald Linebacker of the Year, Rodgers-White Return Specialist of the Year, and a Unanimous All-American. Those awards were for all of college football, not just the Big 10.
7. Played 15 different positions in his final year at Michigan.

Answer: Peppers

Peppers lined up everywhere on the field. He played nearly every position on the defense, and also periodically as a running back, receiver, punt and kick returner and anywhere he was asked. In all he played 933 snaps in 12 games.
8. First-team All-Big Ten in 2016.

Answer: Both

Taco and Peppers were both named to the First-team All-Big Ten defensive team in 2016. Both were picked by both the coaches and the media, proving their spot on the team. Being drafted just 4 spots apart in the NFL draft later that year, pro scouts also took notice.
9. Born in East Orange, New Jersey

Answer: Peppers

Peppers was born in East Orange, New Jersey. He chose Michigan to play at for both the academics and because it was a better football school than any option in New Jersey. By his third season in the NFL he was a member of the New York Giants, who played their home games at the time in East Rutherford New Jersey, not far from where Peppers was born.

The trade to the Giants was a homecoming of sorts for him.
10. Didn't record a single statistic other than "game played" in his NFL debut.

Answer: Taco

Taco was stuck behindtwo good players on the Cowboys and didn't get a lot of playing time early in his rookie year. In limited time, he ended the season with 19 tackles and a forced fumble in 16 games. In 2018 he started 7 games, though he played just 11 due to injury, and increased his tackle total to 27.
