The Stars defeated the Gold 13-7.
2. On March 6, 2008, Sean Landeta, the last former USFL player to play in the NFL officially announced his retirement. What was his position?

Answer: Punter

Landeta punted for the Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars from 1983-85. He also kicked for the Giants, Rams, Buccaneers, Packers, and Eagles of the NFL.

In 1983, the Breakers began in Boston but the stadium they played in was too small, so they moved to the Superdome in New Orleans for the 1984 season. When the league announced they would begin playing in the fall starting with the 1986 season, the Breakers moved to Portland for their third and final season.

Dr. Ted Diethrich, owner of the Blitz in 1983, worked out a trade with Dr. James Hoffman so he could have the team in his native Phoenix. The following season, the "new" Wranglers went to the championship game while the "new" Blitz finished in last place. By the 1985 season, the Blitz were no more and the Wranglers merged with the Oklahoma Outlaws to become the Arizona Outlaws.
6. Doug Williams of the Oklahoma Outlaws was one of only two former USFL quarterbacks to go on to win a Super Bowl. Who was the other?

Steve Young quarterbacked the L.A. Express. He had greater success in the NFL with the 49ers. Doug Flutie of the New Jersey Generals had more success in the Canadian Football League than with the NFL. Jim Kelly of the Houston Gamblers led the Buffalo Bills to four consecutive Super Bowls, but was unable to procure a win. Bobby Hebert of the Michigan Panthers did lead the New Orleans Saints, but could not get a playoff win.

He did lead the Panthers to the first-ever USFL title.

The Stars did win the championship for the 1984-85 seasons, but they were defeated 24-22 in the inaugural championship game against the Michigan Panthers in 1983.

The Renegades didn't begin play until the 1985 season when the Washington Federals relocated to Orlando by way of Miami after the 1984 season.

Reggie White compiled 23.5 sacks in two seasons with the Showboats, to go with the 198 from his time in the NFL.

Coach Allen was traded along with the rest of the Blitz to Arizona where he led the Wranglers to the USFL Championship game in 1984. The Wranglers lost to the Stars 28-3.
