1. Which of the following played in 17 postseason series?

Answer: Reggie Jackson

Although Ruth went to 10 World Series (7-3), they did not have divisional series in his day. Jackson saw 17 postseason series, five of those being World Series, with a record of 4-1.
2. Which of these great sluggers never won a season MVP Award?

Answer: Mark McGwire

Amazingly, the total MVP Awards amongst these greats, only total three, one with each. In 1998, when McGwire shocked the world with his 70 home runs, Sammy Sosa topped him for the MVP Award. Ruth won his in 1923, Aaron in 1957, and Mr. October in 1973.
3. 'The Shot Heard Around the World', was provided by the Giants' Bobby Thomson. He later went to another team. Which of these four sluggers replaced Thomson on that team?

Answer: Hank Aaron

Thomson, known famous for his home run in 1951, went to the Milwaukee Braves in 1954. The Braves were going with the veteran Thomson, until they liked what they saw in their new rookie, Hank Aaron. Aaron played the rest of the season, and won a MVP Award three seasons later.
4. Who played on a team in their rookie season, and then the team moved to a different city the following season?

Answer: Reggie Jackson

Both McGwire and Ruth never played for a team that changed cities. Aaron played for 12 seasons in Milwaukee, before the team moved to Atlanta. It was Reggie, who as a rookie, played for the Kansas City Athletics in 1967, then found himself in Oakland the following season. Jackson hit only one home run in Kansas City, then 29 the following season in Oakland for the Athletics.

Jackson only reached the 40 plateau twice in his career. He hit 47 in 1969 as an Athletic, then 41 in 1980 as a Yankee. McGwire did this six times, Aaron eight times, and the Babe 11 times in his career.

Answer: Mark McGwire

McGwire was born in Pomona, California, in 1963. Mark was a first round 10th pick in the free-agent draft in 1984 by the Athletics. In 1997, the A's traded McGwire to the St. Louis Cardinals for Eric Ludwick, T.J. Mathews, and Blake Stein. Ruth was born in Maryland, Aaron in Alabama, and Jackson in Pennsylvania.
7. Of these great sluggers, who struck out the fewest times in a season?

Answer: Babe Ruth

Ruth and Aaron never reached the triple digit strikeout mark in a season. Aaron's most K's were 96, while Ruth topped at 93. McGwire struck out 159 times in 1997. Jackson, still wet behind the ears, struck out a career high 171 in his second season in 1968. Jackson retired with a Major League leading 2597 strikeouts in 1987.
8. Who was the quickest to be inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame, after they retired from baseball?

Answer: Babe Ruth

Due to rule changes of the Hall of Fame, players may not be inducted earlier than six years after their retirement. In 1936, when the Hall of Fame was introduced to the world, these regulations did not exist. Ruth retired in 1935, and was inducted in the Hall's first year in 1936.
9. Which of these sluggers have more letters in their born name (first, middle, last)?

Answer: Reggie Jackson

Henry Louis Aaron has 15. Both Mark David McGwire and George Herman Ruth topped him by one letter. Reginald Martinez Jackson has 23, which ironically was his age, 23, when he hit his career high 47 home runs in 1969.
10. Which of the four great sluggers, reached the 500 home run plateau in the fewest number of seasons?

Answer: Mark McGwire

McGwire reached the 500 mark in 1999. This was his 14th of 16 seasons. He retired with 583 home runs. Aaron banged his 500th in 1969, in his 16th season. Ruth, in this 17th season in 1930, hit his 500th. Jackson was the slowest of this group, hitting his 500th in his 18th season in 1984.
