Sorkin, born on June 9th, 1961 in New York City, was credited with penning this episode of "The West Wing." In the opening credits, you could see that his name was mentioned as the one who wrote this episode. Sorkin not only created "The West Wing" but wrote a total of 155 episodes for the show.

He has also written episodes for the TV series', "Sports Night" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip." He also drafted the screenplay for the 1992 Oscar nominated film, "A Few Good Men."

At the beginning of the episode, C.J. met with many members of organizations in an event called the "Big Block of Cheese Day." The day, according to her, was created by President Jackson so that the President and his staff could meet with members of organizations they often did not talk to for the entire year.

It was an annual event where people from these organizations could push forth their platforms and discuss concerns regarding their causes.
