Nicholas Colasanto died on February 12, 1985. Consequently, they moved this opening to the last episode and covered for his death in other ways throughout the season. One way they did this was to say that he was off visiting family.

2. What did Cliff do on the phone that made a woman not want to go out with him?

Answer: pretended it was an obscene phone call

Cliff was never good with women. Once again, he struck out this time because he thought it would be funny to make it sound like he was an obscene caller when he called a girl Norm knew.

3. What happened to Luigi?

Answer: he died

Luigi was the chef at the restaurant in Italy where Frasier and Diane ate... or attempted to eat. The staff was so upset they couldn't function so they never ended up eating.
