He wanted to get his diploma. He was one credit short so he decided to return to school.

2. What did the gang think Sam was doing?

Answer: drinking

Sam was a recovering alcoholic. Because he didn't tell them he was going back to school they thought he was drinking again.

3. What schooling was the bar's student doing?

Answer: high school

Sam went back to school to get his high school diploma. Diane thought he was going to college and was disappointed she dated a high school drop out.

4. Who did Norm say never finished high school?

Answer: Cher

Cher had dyslexia. She always knew she'd be an actress one day.

Coach also had not finished high school. Sam going back gave him the courage to do the same thing.
