As Tommy described the encounter he said the girl had something round and beautiful but when he touched it the session ended. He then revealed it was her eyes he touched.

Tommy caught the flu from the girl he made out with and it quickly spread to the rest of the family. The first time Sally sneezed she found the experience very enjoyable as did Harry. By the next day however the flu had hit with full force and everyone was miserable.

Mary was talking on the phone and was disappointed when she hung up because her date for an upcoming wedding had cancelled because his brother had just woken from a coma. Dick eagerly volunteered to go in his place but Mary was hesitant because of his eccentricities. Finally she relented and agreed to take him with her.

Sally found herself compelled to take care of Harry and Tommy even though she was just as sick as they were. She thought it was the flu that was making her feel this way not any maternal instincts. She even made a big pot of chicken soup because it was supposed to make them feel better so Harry soaked his feet in it.

Mary explained to Dick that the groom had money and that the bride wanted money. She then said she thought the marriage would only last a year since the bride was obviously a gold digger. Later on at the reception Dick told everyone that he and Mary thought the marriage would only last a year, mortifying Mary.

Time travel was never mentioned by Dick. He was certain he was dying since he had never felt anything like the flu before so he needed to tell Mary certain things. He revealed he was an alien and that he was in love with her. Since she knew he was obviously delirious from the flu and the cough syrup she ignored his admission about being an alien.

He also warned her if she found a purple blob in the morning where he had been wearing his watch that she should not touch it.

Dick insisted that they dance when he heard the music and they quickly took over the dance floor making a spectacle of themselves. Mary then declared how good they were although that fact was certainly debatable. She then felt Dick's forehead and realized he had a fever so she took him to her apartment and put him to bed on her couch.

When Sally, Tommy, and Harry were discussing the fact of how such a little thing like a virus could make them feel so bad and how weak human bodies were, he said he thought they should have come to earth as ducks.

Dina came to check on Tommy since he caught the flu from their make out session. He said he would take anything she wanted to give him. She then offered for him to come over to her house and on the way out Tommy introduced Dina to Sally and Harry. When Sally realized who Dina was she yelled, "Incubator!" at her and scared her away. Tommy then sarcastically thanked Sally for doing that.

Nina had warned Dr. Solomon to go home when he first showed up to school sick but Dick refused because he did not want Mary to know he was sick so he could go to the wedding with her. At the end of the show Dick comes back to school having recovered from the flu but Nina is now sick and blames Dick. She then coughs all over his phone handset before going home to recover.
