1. Annie threw a wonderful bridal shower for Rose, and afterwards the two share milk and cookies in the kitchen. Whose china pattern did Rose pick?

Answer: Annie's

Annie tells Rose, "I'm so glad you picked my china pattern." Rose replies by saying that she and Simon will think of home every time they use them. However, Lucy thinks that Rose just wants to inherit Annie's china. Ruthie is skeptical that the marriage will even last that long.

However, if Rose and Simon are still married when Ruthie's getting married, Lucy asks Ruthie to pick the same pattern- just in case.

2. When Rose was little, her parents gave her a book called, "A Kiss in the Library". It made her not want to kiss a boy for years! Annie gave Mary, Lucy, and Ruthie the same book, however, and it seemed to have the opposite effect on them! Lucy and Ruthie didn't realize it was supposed to stop them from kissing boys- Ruthie thought it was a message for fresh breath! What does Ruthie still keep in her pocket when she goes to the library?

Answer: Peppermints

Rose said that she didn't want to kiss a boy for years after reading that book because the boy had a peppermint in his mouth, and the kiss was "sticky". Lucy and Ruthie both didn't know that the book was supposed to keep them from wanting to kiss boys. Lucy and Ruthie were discussing matters like this and the china patterns on the steps, spying on Rose and Annie.

They felt like their mother was "cheating" on them!

3. Sam: "I don't understand." David: "I think what they're saying is that you can give a person a few ______, and they'll talk to you."

Answer: Oreos

Sam: "About what?" David: "I don't know. Let's find out!". Nabisco Oreo Cookies were featured in this episode as a major plot device - because, as the twins find out after listening to Lucy and Ruthie and trying it themselves - people can divulge secrets when relaxing and eating milk and cookies.

The cookies (correctly spelled "Oreos", by the way,) were also obviously an example of major product placement advertising in this episode.

4. Simon and Rose receive a lot of gifts at their engagement party, but all they receive from Kevin and Lucy is a teapot. They didn't want to give their "big gift" to them yet, they wanted to wait for the wedding. It is a surprise gift, and during milk and cookies it becomes the first secret Sam and David learn of. What is the surprise gift going to be?

Answer: Some money to pay for their wedding rings

After learning of this, the twins high five each other. They've gotten their first secret due to the Oreos. Later, they'll learn just how badly Simon needs the money...

5. Eric walks into the room and divulges his secret next. When he and Annie were newlyweds, he had to go on a business trip, and left his wedding ring where?

Answer: On the hotel bathroom sink

He'd already started driving back from the airport, but realized that he'd left his ring by the hotel sink, so he drove all the way to downtown Los Angeles and bought one that looked just like it. Eric even got a discount, because he couldn't afford the replacement ring but the man selling the rings felt sorry for him!

6. Ruthie is crazy enough to tell the twins something she doesn't want everyone else to know.

Answer: False

She made that clear when she told the twins that she's let them in on a little secret, then whispered, "My secret is: I'm not crazy enough to tell either of you something I don't want everyone else to know." Ruthie almost slipped and gave away the secret she'd been keeping for years to her mother, though...

7. What is something Rose said to Annie before going to bed?

Rose came in, just wanting to say "thanks again for the wedding shower". They said goodnight, and Annie said "Love you". Rose smiled even more than she was already smiling, and then said "Love you" back. Ruthie overheard the "Love you"s, as she mentions them to Lucy the next day.

8. Simon wakes up Rose at 6:00. He has come over to his parents' house so early because, even though his shift is later changed to 4:00, he thinks he has to get back to work by what time?

Simon is really annoyed when he finds out that the person that called in sick called in "well", and gets some more sleep. He doesn't wake up again until Rose gets the twins to wake him up at 1:00!

9. Who reveals to Sam and David that they're taking incompletes on all of their classes?

Answer: Simon

Lucy's no longer in school, and Martin's no longer in the show! Simon's secret is that he's taking incompletes on all his classes, so that he can work more and pay for that stupid ring he bought Rose. The twins don't know what incompletes are, and Simon hopes they never know.

10. Which dog nuzzles Savannah's face and makes her giggle?

Answer: Samson

Samson is Lucy and Kevin's very big dog- he's the one that is able to touch his nose to Savannah's face while she's sitting in her high chair and he's sitting on the floor. Happy has been in "7th Heaven" since the first episode, and is technically Simon's dog, or more appropriately now Eric and Annie's dog. Delilah is a small dog, also belonging to Kevin and Lucy (and Savannah).

11. Rose tells Ruthie that some people are lucky enough to have parents that tell them when they're doing the wrong thing. She's wasn't, but she was lucky enough to have a friend that did. Ruthie points out that Rose means Umberto. Rose establishes that Umberto is just a/an what?

Answer: Friend

Earlier in the episode, Simon is talking to Eric and also establishes that he regards Umberto as a good friend as well. Umberto is coming to the wedding. Rose tells Ruthie in this scene that Umberto is "just a friend, in case you were wondering". "I was wondering," Ruthie replies, before deciding to leave the room.

12. Finish this quote of Ruthie's: "And you think Rose might end up marrying Umberto instead? Come on. You know we're all thinking that. You can tell me. I can keep a secret. I've kept Matt's secret for ____."

Answer: years

The 16th episode of season 6, "I Really Did", opens with Ruthie calling a hotel, and Matt answering the phone "Mr. and Mrs. Matt Camden". Ruthie discovers that he and Sarah eloped. She keeps the secret, though, and no one else ever finds out. That episode originally aired on Monday, March 4th 2002, and was supposed to, according to this episode, take place in February. Matt and Sarah get married again, for what appears to the rest of the family to be the first time, in May, in the season 6 finale "Holy War (2)".

This means that Ruthie's been keeping Matt's secret for a long time indeed - over 4 years!

13. Rose is confronted by Ruthie, who tells her that the mini fridge has got to go - the twins have been using it as a cookie bar, and people are divulging secrets that they don't want to! Ruthie explains that Rose took away Martin, whom she loved, by introducing him to Sandy. What does Ruthie say next?

Answer: I think my mom is only being nice to you because she thinks that you and Simon won't get married

Ruthie doesn't know why, but that's what she thinks. Annie overhears that, and yells at Ruthie. Annie tells Ruthie and Rose that is not true. Ruthie then calls Sarah, in an attempt to acquire another secret of Matt and Sarah's (even though she only technically needs a secret about Matt), so that she can redeem herself for her mother by giving away a more minor secret.

14. Annie tells Rose, "I hate keeping secrets. I hate keeping what I know and how I feel inside. It can be a burden, you know, it can make a person sick." What are Sam and David's collective responses to overhearing this?

Answer: "Sick?" "How sick?"

The twins need to talk to their father, but he's sleeping, and Annie shoos them away, telling them that Eric can talk to them later. Sam and David end up telling Rose about the surprise gift of the money to pay for the ring. They then tell her that Simon's taking all incompletes this year because he didn't have time to study. Eric walks in, and they tell him that he had better tell Annie about the ring or else he'll get sick.

But first, Eric wants to hear everything they know...

15. Ruthie tells Eric, Annie, and Lucy that Matt and Sarah eloped on their first date. What was their reaction?

Answer: Shock

"It's old news, really. Very old news. I mean it probably doesn't even matter anymore. Remember when Matt took Sarah on their first date, and they stayed out all night, and came home with that lame cover story about how they stayed up all night talking and decided to get married?" Annie nods and says, "Yeah?". Ruthie continues, "They were already married." Eric's eyes widen. "They got married on their first date." "And they told you?!" Lucy screams incredulously. Eric and Annie both stand up, shocked, saying, "What?". Ruthie squirms a little. "Yeah. Their anniversary's actually in February."
