Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Seventh Heaven" is the story of a protestant minister's family. What is their name?

Answer: Camden

Premiering on August 26, 1996, this G rated program chronicled the development of the Camden family as they dealt with the problems encountered by a minister's family in today's society.
2. When the show premiered, how many children were living at home with their parents, Eric and Annie?

Answer: 5

When the show began the Camden household had 5 children: Matt (Barry Watson),
Mary (Jessica Biel), Lucy (Beverly Mitchell), Simon (David Gallagher) and Ruthie (Mackenzie Rosman).
3. In the third season Annie was pregnant. How many children were born as a result of this pregnancy?

Answer: 2

The twins, Sam and David, were born and were played by actual twins, Nikolas and Lorenzo Brino, who continued in the cast until its final episode.
4. Where did the family live?

Answer: Glen Oak, California

Eric Camden is the minister of the Glen Oak Community Church. It is a protestant church, but its denomination is never disclosed. Many of the church scenes were filmed at the First Christian Church of North Hollywood and in at least one episode the Disciples of Christ logo (a St Andrew's Cross and chalice) was visible on the front of the pulpit, but it was never stated that Glen Oaks was a Disciples of Christ church.
5. One member of the cast was virtually written out in the 5th season. She has achieved considerable success in films. Who is this beautiful woman?

Answer: Jessica Biel (Mary, the oldest daughter)

Jessica Biel and the producers began to have disagreements and Jessica's character, Mary, left home, first to live with her grandparents in Buffalo, NY, then to become a flight attendant, and finally to marry and live in New York City. Jessica has had prominent roles in a number of movies since she left the show.
6. How many of the other children moved away from home during the 11 years that the series ran?

Answer: 2. Matt, who became a doctor and Simon who went away to college

Because of film work and other commitments, Barry Watson was written out of a number of episodes, as was David Gallagher, but the writers worked their absences into the plot and they made regular guest appearances. Ruthie went to Scotland as an exchange student but was never absent from the storyline. Obviously Mackenzie Rosman also had other work but the storyline, placing her in another country, explained why she was never together with the other family members.
7. There was another member of the Camden family who appeared in virtually every episode from the middle of the first season. Who was this character?

Answer: Happy, the dog

Simon and Ruthie found Happy and brought him home. The family promptly fell in love with him. One episode focused on his previous owners showing up to reclaim him, but it all worked out "happily". Happy's name was actually Happy which made things a lot easier for the director.
8. Although the topics addressed in the storyline were rarely controversial, a 2004 episode delivered what the producers considered a message of national importance. What was the message?

Answer: Vote, no matter who you vote for

The format of the series was such that each episode usually focused on an issue from various points of view, showing how the family members differed and eventually came to some satisfactory resolution. In this episode there was no disagreement, only complications that needed to be overcome and were.
9. The January 24, 2005 episode garnered the highest rating the WB network had attained on any show since 2003. What event happened that attracted so many viewers?

Answer: Lucy's daughter, Savannah, was born

Lucy's courtship and marriage to a policeman she had met in Buffalo while visiting her grandparents had been the theme of a number of episodes, so when her due date arrived, there was great viewer interest. Mary was the Camden child who had to be "straightened out" by the Buffalo grandparents, not Ruthie.
10. When was the last episode of "Seventh Heaven" aired in the United States?

Answer: May 13, 2007

The series finale was scheduled by the WB for May 8, 2006; however the show was renewed when the intended final episode received high ratings. The 11th and final seasoned premiered on Monday, September 25, 2006 and ended in the USA on May 13, 2007.
