Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What would happen if Sabrina ever met her mother?

Answer: Sabrina's mother would be turned into a ball of wax.

Sabrina's father, Ted, who was a warlock, married Diana, a mortal. At some point before Sabrina's sixteenth birthday (when the series began), the two divorced. The Witches' Council decreed that if Sabrina and her mother ever met her mother would be turned into a ball of wax.

This was to discourage marriages between witches and mortals. Despite this, Diana would visit Sabrina once a year, staying just out of sight. One year, however, they looked at each other, and Diana turned into a ball of wax.

It was later discovered that Sabrina's tears would change Diana back into a human; however, if Diana turned into a ball of wax a second time, she would stay that way permanently.
2. In the episode "Jenny's Non-Dream" why was Jenny turned into a grasshopper by Drell, head of the Witches' Council?

Answer: She had entered the Other Realm.

Sabrina invited her best friend, Jenny Kelly, over to a sleepover at the prompting of Sabrina's aunts, Hilda and Zelda, who wanted to prove that they could be normal. While there, Jenny stepped into the linen closet, the passage to the Other Realm. (There had previously been a discussion about towels-an attempt to be normal-and Jenny was fascinated with towels in the Spellman home.) While there she met Drell who turned her into a grasshopper, because Jenny, as a mortal, was not allowed in the Other Realm.

This was in accordance to a rule that said that any mortal who entered into the Other Realm must be trapped into a creepy crawly thing. An exception to this rule was on any Friday the 13th where a witch may tell a mortal she's a witch and they may go to the Other Realm without consequences. Sabrina was able to turn Jenny back into a human thanks to another rule that said that mortals without conscious knowledge of the realm may walk through it freely.

This was accomplished by having Jenny believe the entire thing was a dream.
3. During the third season, various members of Sabrina's family visited her and left her with a clue to the family secret. Who was NOT one of these family members?

Answer: Vesta

While all four of the people listed were family members, Vesta was not involved in helping Sabrina learn the family secret. Vesta, sister to Ted, Hilda, and Zelda, lived in a house she called the Pleasure Dome where she had a care-free attitude. She only one appeared in one episode, in the first season before Sabrina even knew there was a family secret.
Despite these frequent family member visits, they would rarely spend a great deal of time talking about the family secret. Rather, they would just leave a clue. Marigold left a cut-out of a heart. Suzie left a whip and a clue saying they all have good and bad parts (hinting at the fact that here would be a good twin and an evil twin). Mortimer left a cut-out of a man with the letters ABC on him.
The family secret was "Every member of the Spellman family is born with a twin". The family secret board displayed the family secret in a rebus-style puzzle with the clues filling in the blank. The heart translated to "of"; the man with the letters translated to "Spellman", and the whip translated to "with".
4. Which of the following spells have Sabrina NOT cast on her enemy, Libby Chessler?

Answer: Making her become child-like

Libby and Sabrina clashed right from the start, and since Sabrina has magic, it's no surprise Sabrina performed magic on Libby, whether by accident or purpose. The very first spell Libby had cast was in the first episode of the series. Libby was turned into a pineapple, which at the time was the only spell Sabrina knew. Zelda fixed this problem.
Later, Libby made fun of a wart on Sabrina's forehead. Sabrina, already feeling stressed, turned Libby into a goat. Like with the pineapple, Zelda fixed this problem.
Finally, Sabrina had cast a spell to have Libby remain away from her. Since she was trying to distance herself from her problems, a spell was cast on Sabrina to make her remain in close proximity to Libby. If Sabrina broke away from being within close proximity (which she did), then Libby would be turned into a puzzle. Sabrina and her aunts helped assemble the Libby puzzle turning her back into a person. Some pieces of the puzzle were not included in the box. To find them, Sabrina had to explore Libby's life to find them. She gained respect for Libby, even if Libby's opinion of Sabrina did not change.
5. Which mortal had reached the spell quota meaning that he or she discovered that Sabrina was a witch?

Answer: Harvey

At the end of the fourth season, Sabrina's boyfriend, Harvey Kinkle, reached the spell quota. The last spell to affect him was friendship bread, magical food that allowed two enemies to become friends. In this instance, the two enemies were Harvey and Josh, the latter being Sabrina's boss at the coffee house and her current boyfriend. Once the spell quota was reached (the exact number was never specified), no spells would permanently affect Harvey. That didn't mean a spell couldn't be cast on Harvey.

For example, he was affected by a spell that was cast on a murder mystery train where each passenger on the train would take on a role in a murder mystery. However, once the spell was lifted, Harvey had a feeling he was under a spell whereas every other mortal remained oblivious.
6. Which of Sabrina's friends was also a witch?

Answer: Dreama

Dreama was a student at Westbridge High and like Sabrina, she was also a witch. Unlike Sabrina who used her finger to cast spells, Dreama tugged on her ear. Sabrina was asked to mentor Dreama in much the same Sabrina's Quizmaster mentored her. This was usually accomplished by having Dreama help Sabrina with whatever problem she (Sabrina) had experienced.
Dreama only lasted one season and there was no mention of what happened to Dreama or whether or not she was successful.
7. Who was not among Sabrina's college friends?

Answer: Brad

After graduating from Westbridge High, Sabrina enrolled into Adams College and lived in a college dormitory that included Morgan (the resident assistant), Roxie, and Miles. They remained roommates throughout Sabrina's years at college. Morgan and Roxie even moved in with Sabrina into her house after they graduated. Brad was a friend of Harvey's and a student at Westbridge High with Sabrina.

He and Sabrina were not on good terms, because Brad possessed a witch-hunting gene, something that very few mortals had.

This gene made them even more aware of magic in their vicinity and if they ever accused a witch of being one, then the witch got turned into a mouse. The good news was that if that mortal's witch-hunting gene was removed within an hour of the witch being turned into a mouse, then the spell would be reversed; otherwise, the witch would remain a mouse forever.
8. Which job did Roland the troll never have?

Answer: Police officer

Roland the troll had a crush on Sabrina, one she did not reciprocate. In his first appearance, Roland was finder of lost items; Sabrina had him find her lost biology notes. According to the contract she signed, Roland could have anything in Sabrina's room, so he took Sabrina.
In his second appearance, he was an equalizer. For example, when Sabrina used her magic to place a 20% off sign on a shirt, Roland literally took 20% of one of Sabrina's other shirts. When Sabrina (accidentally) got her friend Valerie's boyfriend to fall in love with her--thereby stealing his heart--Roland literally stole Sabrina's heart.
Roland was a private investigator in his third appearance. For a class assignment, a pair of students had pretend to be married. Harvey and Libby were one such pair. Sabrina believed Harvey had real feelings towards Libby, so she hired Roland to follow him around. Roland ended up fabricating information hoping Sabrina would dump Harvey and want to be with him.
Roland became a leprechaun in his fourth appearance and when Sabrina caught him he allowed her three wishes (since he was a leprechaun). He also tried to make Harvey jealous by sending Sabrina secret love letters.
In Roland's fifth and final appearance, he became an assistant to Cupid. Sabrina had a secret admirer (Josh) and as it turned out Sabrina loved him back causing a problem for her since she also loved Harvey. Roland's job was to figure this out.
9. Who did Sabrina leave at the altar in the final episode of the series?

Answer: Aaron

During the final season, Sabrina met a band promoter named Aaron Jacobs. They dated and Sabrina was convinced he was the right one to marry, even if they did have some previous problems (such as Sabrina accidentally referring to Aaron as Harvey--in front of his parents, no less!) or Sabrina's Aunt Irma not being pleased that Sabrina was going to marry a mortal.
They decided to get married but during the ceremony, Sabrina realized that Aaron wasn't the one for her. She left the church where she met Harvey outside. Together, they rode off somewhere on his motorcycle and (presumably) eventually got married. The time of day this happened was 12:36PM, significant because that was also the time in which Harvey and Sabrina first met on her first day at Westbridge High and Harvey gave Sabrina a bracelet with the time engraved on it later that school year.
The other three choices were all at one point boyfriends of Sabrina.
10. Which of the following holidays has there never been an episode about?

Answer: Veteran's Day

There were Valentine's Day, Halloween, and Christmas episodes throughout the series but no Veteran's Day episodes.
Being a show about magic, it's perhaps no surprise that there were several Halloween episodes. Some of these episodes included Sabrina visiting Marigold and Amanda in the Other Realm, going on a Halloween murder mystery train, and two different episodes where Sabrina threw a Halloween party (one while her aunts are away and another that involved magical talking furniture and a river of candy corn).
"Sabrina the Teenage Witch" also had a few Christmas episodes. The first such episode involved Salem being kidnapped by a young boy while Sabrina and her aunts get a visit from their cousin Monty and his girlfriend. Others include Sabrina accidentally deleting Christmas, Sabrina taking over Santa's job after he sustained an injury, and Sabrina visiting her college roommate Morgan's family for Christmas.
There were also some Valentine's Day episodes but not nearly as many as Halloween or Christmas shows. The first Valentine's Day episode was Sabrina bringing nervous about kissing Harvey because of the possibility (due to her being a witch and Harvey a mortal) that he may turn into a frog. The other episode included Sabrina's boss, Josh, being secretly in love with her. The third and final episode involved Sabrina being upset about not having a date for Valentine's Day whereas her college roommates do.
