In "Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo", the Simpsons visited Japan because they decided to purchase standby tickets to an unknown destination. While in Japan, Lisa was disappointed the family only wanted to do Americanized things. While watching a sumo match, Bart and Homer are arrested from accidentally assaulting the Emperor. Marge was forced to spend the family's money on bail. Without any money to get home, the family was forced to gut truckloads of fish for money before winning tickets home on a bizarre and tortuous gameshow.

Answer: Canada

The first time the Simpsons visited Canada was in "The Bart Wants What It Wants" when Bart tried to win back his ex-girlfriend Greta Wolfcastle whom Bart dumped and she later hooked up with Milhouse. Greta is the daughter of film star Rainier Wolfcastle and Bart and the rest of the Simpsons went to Canada where Wolfcastle filming a movie.

Homer and several other residents of Springfield went back and forth into Canada in "Midnight Rx" as part of a smuggling operation to purchase cheaper prescription medication.

Homer, Marge, Principal Skinner and his mother competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver where they won a gold medal in the mixed doubles curling exhibition event. The episode was called "Boy Meets Curl".

In "D'oh Canada", Lisa was accidentally given asylum in Canada after she fell over Niagara Falls. Canada refused to let Lisa leave and deported the rest of her family. Lisa began to enjoy her new life in Canada while the rest of the Simpsons try to get her back.

Homer first visited India with Apu in "Homer and Apu". In that episode, Apu was fired from the Kwik-E-Mart after he served Homer unsanitary hot dogs and he got food poisoning. In an attempt to get his store back, Apu and Homer traveled to India to meet the CEO of the Kwik-E-Mart for advice.

Homer returned to India in "Kiss, Kiss, Bang Bangalore" when Mr. Burns outsourced the power plant to Bangalore. Homer is the only employee to keep his job and is put in charge of the power plant.

In "The Trouble with the Trillions", Homer gets in trouble with the IRS and becomes an informant. He is tasked with investigating Mr. Burns who the IRS stolen a trillion dollar bill that was supposed to help rebuild Europe after World War II. Homer begins to relate to Mr. Burns and the two along with Smithers flee the country. They land in Cuba where Mr. Burns tries to buy the country with the trillion dollar bill only to have it stolen by Fidel Castro.

Homer returned to Cuba with the rest of his family in "Havana Wild Weekend". In that episode, Grandpa falls in but the family can't get him decent, affordable treatment in the U.S. so they travel to Havana. Although Grandpa fails to get treatment there as well, the adventures he has there give him the strength he lacked.

In "The Italian Bob", Mr. Burns asks Homer to go to Italy to retrieve an expensive sports car he purchased. Traveling to Italy with his family, Homer wrecks the car and is forced to stay in a small Italian village. The mayor of this village turns out to be Sideshow Bob who has given up a life of crime. Bob has a wife, Francesca, and a son, Gino.

He asks the Simpsons not to reveal his past misdeeds as he is now well respected. However, Lisa accidentally reveals the truth and Bob and his family seek a vendetta on the Simpsons.

In "The Regina Monologues", the Simpsons visit London so Grandpa can reconnect with Edwina, he a woman he loved during World War II and so Marge can enjoy a vacation. Grandpa has trouble locating Edwina initially but does meet up with her. Homer, hoping to give Marge a nice vacation for a change, is one his best behavior until he accidentally hits the Queen's horse carriage and is imprisoned in the Tower of London.

In "In the Name of the Grandfather", the Simpsons visit Ireland so Grandpa could have a drink at his favorite pub called O'Flanagan's. The pub owner, Tom O'Flanagan, is eagerly trying to rid himself of the pub and pawns it off on Homer and Grandpa when they get drunk. Homer and Abe struggle to attract customers but the pub becomes popular when they open it up to smoking.

Marge's sister Selma hits menopause and becomes aware she is too old to have children. Not wanting to die alone, she tries to adopt a baby but discovers she cannot do so from China without a husband. She lies and tells the adoption agency Homer is her husband so she and the Simpsons travel to China. Selma and Homer initially pull the ruse off but are discovered at the last minute.

The adoption lady takes the baby, Ling, away, and Homer goes into the orphanage to get her and bring her to Selma. This episode is called "Goo Goo Gai Pan".

The Simpsons have visited France several times. The first occasion was in "The Crepes of Wrath" when Bart was sent to France as an exchange student. He was enslaved by two vineyard owners Ugolin and Cesar who worked Bart day and night and spiked their wine with antifreeze.

In "The Bart-Mangled Banner", Bart accidentally mooned the American Flag, giving the impression that the Simpsons were anti-American. All five were imprisoned and forced to watch American propaganda before they escaped to France and later immigrated back to America.

The entire Simpsons family travel to Paris in "To Courier with Love" on vacation. Marge desperately wanted to visit Paris but the family could not afford the trip. In order to pay for the vacation, Homer was forced to smuggle a rare blue snake into Paris so it could be made into a belt by Ugolin and Cesar, who return in this episode.

In "The Greatest Story Ever D'ohed", Ned Flanders invites the Simpsons on a pilgrimage to Israel. Marge accepts despite Homer not wanting to go. While in Jerusalem, Flanders tries to heal Homer's spirituality and it appears to be working. However, Homer falls asleep at Christ's tomb which angers Ned. Ned has a breakdown and is banned from the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Homer travels into the desert and hallucinates that he is the Messiah, though by the end of the trip Homer and Ned come to an understanding.

Answer: Brazil

The Simpsons first travel to Brazil in "Blame it on Lisa" in order to find a lost orphan boy named Ronaldo that Lisa sponsors. While in Brazil, they find Ronaldo but Homer gets kidnapped for a ransom. The portrayal of Brazil in this episode was controversial (especially in Brazil) as it made Brazil look like a dirty, crime-infested country. This criticism is often mocked on the show.

The Simpsons return to Brazil in "You Don't Have to Live Like a Referee". In that episode, Homer becomes a soccer referee and is assigned to the FIFA World Cup taking place in Brazil. He is offered a bribe to fix the game, which tempts him.

In "Monty Can't Buy Me Love", Mr. Burns goes on a publicity streak after being outshined by a new millionaire in town. He enlists the aid of Homer and Groundskeeper Willie to capture the Loch Ness Monster and bring it back to Springfield. Willie is originally from Scotland (as is mentioned many times) so he goes along as a local guide. Mr. Burns is successful in his quest and eventually the Loch Ness Monster becomes a blackjack dealer in his casino.

In "Simpson Safari", Homer finds a golden giraffe in a very old box of animal crackers and believes he won a trip to Africa. To avoid a lawsuit, the company (which doesn't even sell animal crackers anymore) sends the family to Tanzania. While there, they are guided by Kitenge who aspires to be president one day. The Simpsons enjoy their safari until they cause a stampede that sends them into the African wilderness. They meet a primatologist named Joan Bushwell who studies chimps. In reality, she is using the chimps in her diamond mine.

This episode is explicitly said to take place in Tanzania but some of the locations visited (such as Victoria Falls) are not in that country.

Answer: Australia

In the infamous episode "Bart vs. Australia", Bart causes an international incident when he calls Australia to ask if the toilet water flows in the opposite direction than it does in the Northern Hemisphere. The Simpsons go to Australia so Bart can apologize for keeping an Australian child on the phone for hours and raking up an expensive phone bill. Bart apologizes, however, the Prime Minister wants to punish him by kicking him in the butt with a boot.
15. Homer, Moe and Lenny go to this country to hunt down Carl who steals their winning lottery ticket.

Answer: Iceland

In "The Saga of Carl", Homer, Moe, Lenny and Carl win the Springfield Lottery and agree to split the money. However, Carl runs off to his home country of Iceland with the money. Angry and confused, the other three travel to Iceland to find Carl. There, they learn that Carl's family is shunned because of an old legend that the Carlsons helped enemy invaders and Carl took the money to try and clear their name.
