Gatschet landed the part of Madison in June of 2009. Madison was described as a woman in a loveless marriage with an attorney named Henry North. Prior to "All My Children", Gatschet appeared as Tammy Layne Winslow on the now canceled CBS soap opera, "Guiding Light", a role she played from July/2002 to February/2007. Gatschet has also appeared in the films, "Virgin" and "Roger Dodger".

Madison was first seen at a casino with her husband, District Attorney Henry North. Madison and Henry were estranged as husband and wife and on the brink of divorcing. It was revealed that Henry was attracted to Madison due to her wealth.

Madison had a habit of going to the casino a lot to gambling and it was stated that she had a gambling addiction. On a couple occasions, Madison made mention on how her husband had to limit the amount of money she spent at the casinos. Madison eventually got over her gambling addiction.

In one scene, Henry North went to see Randi and he made unwanted sexual advances on her so she fought back by using a bookend on him. Randi thought that she had killed Henry but he was not dead. Greenlee was on trial for murdering David Hayward (David eventually revealed that he faked his death) and Ryan was subpoenaed to testify at her trial for the prosecution. During the cross examination, Ryan confessed to the court that he still had feelings for Greenlee and loved her. Madison heard this since she was in the courtroom and broke things off with Ryan once they spoke in the hallway.

After David revealed that he had faked his death, he and Ryan fought on the rooftop to the police department. David was about to kill Ryan but Kendall stepped in and shot David. Shortly after this, it was revealed that Kendall shot at David multiple times (she only hit him once) and one of the bullets from her gun went into Madison's body. Madison survived the gunshot wound. Erica covered for Kendall but David remembered it was Kendall who shot him.

Madison then started to feel a little awkward so she got herself checked out at the hospital.
