In fact Betty took Kimmie under her wing, and even got her a job working at "Mode". As a result, she vowed to make Kimmie the perfect assistant. This, however, was Betty's downfall, as Kimmie began to rise to the top, making the world of "Mode" seem very much like the world of high school.

On arriving back in America at the beginning of this season, Betty vowed to move out of the family home, and into her own place in the city. She did end up accomplishing this, although she and her family had to work hard to make her apartment habitable. Initially she treated Betty like a maid, but gradually a real friendship began to blossom between the two women.
