Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. During his flashback to the island, Oliver notices that Shado is oddly comfortable and familiar handling the skeletons of the dead WW2 Japanese soldiers. What does Shado tell Oliver she worked as, prior to arriving on the island, that would explain her familiarity with human skeletons?

Answer: A medical student

In the previous episode, the island trio of Slade, Shado, and Oliver, had discovered a hidden cave containing the skeletons of several Japanese WW2 soldiers. It is revealed that the men who arrived on the island after Fyers and his men had been dealt with, had come specifically to find that cave with those skeletons. Shado is curious to know why the men are looking for the skeletons. Slade worries that if the men are looking for the skeletons, that means that they are now also looking for them.
2. Barton Mathis, a convicted murderer who was nicknamed the Dollmaker, has gotten out of Iron Heights prison and has begun killing again. How does Lance tell the Arrow that the Dollmaker got out of the prison?

Answer: He escaped during the earthquake when a section of the prison split open

Lance explains to the Arrow that he helped put the Dollmaker away six years ago. The Dollmaker was supposed to serve two life sentences, but escaped when the prison split open during the earthquake; one of several baddies who got out that night. Lance tells Oliver that the Dollmaker got his name because he pumps a flexible polymer down the throats of his victims to suffocate them and then dresses them up like dolls and leaves them posed for the police to find.
3. Who does Oliver task with the mission of finding out the whereabouts of the mysterious blonde, female vigilante who has been seen fighting crime around town and who saved Oliver from Laurel's trap at the beginning of the episode?

Answer: Roy

Oliver puts Felicity and Diggle on the Dollmaker case. When Felicity wonders if that means he doesn't still want her looking for the female vigilante, Oliver tells her he has that covered and, as the Arrow, he goes to ask Roy to help him find the woman, but to only find her and not to engage.
4. Officer Lance and the Arrow locate the Dollmaker's apartment, but upon entering it, they realize that the Dollmaker was prepared for their arrival and is not there. Before leaving, the Dollmaker left behind a doll and a telephone, which he then uses to call Lance. The following excerpt of quotes was taken from the intense scene that followed. Lance has told the Dollmaker that he is sick for doing what he does to innocent girls. The Dollmaker doesn't agree. Complete the conversation that took place between Lance and the Dollmaker: Dollmaker: "Sick? I've never felt better. Fresh air agrees with me." Lance: "Yeah, well, don't get too used to it. I caught you before, it's just a matter of time before I do it again." Dollmaker: "Fair enough. In the meantime, however, I have someone who'd like to say hello to you. Say hello, dear." [Girl screams] Lance: "She's done nothing to you, please don't hurt her, just let her go!" Dollmaker: "And allow her to wither away in a mediocre and forgettable life? Nooo, no, no, no. She deserves so much better! She deserves to see her beauty preserved; pristine forever. I will turn her into something special. Now pay attention, Detective, what comes next is quite exquisite. The sound of an esophagus slowly hardening; like a symphony." Lance: "Barton, don't do it! I'm begging you, okay, is that what you want?! I'm begging you! Please just stop!" Dollmaker: "It's for the world to enjoy, after all _______________"

Answer: "everyone loves a pretty doll."

While Lance is on the phone with the Dollmaker, the Arrow can be heard in the background calling for Felicity to get a trace on the call. As the call progresses, Oliver gets impatient and asks Felicity if she's got the trace yet, but Felicity tells Oliver that the Dollmaker is using a scrambler and its taking too long.

As Lance begs the Dollmaker to stop, we see the Dollmaker pump the liquid polymer into the girl's mouth; killing her. Her body is later left in an alley for police to find.
5. When the person who Oliver sent to find the blonde vigilante speaks to a man who might know where she is, the man reveals that the blonde vigilante hangs out with a younger street girl. What is the name of the girl who knows the blonde vigilante?

Answer: Cindy

Roy asks one of the men he knows from the streets in the Glades if he knows where the blonde female vigilante can be found. The man says that all he knows is that she hangs out with a girl named Cindy, or Sin for short. The man tells Roy where Cindy can usually be found hanging out and gives Roy a vague description of what she looks like.
6. Lieutenant Pike orders that Officer Lance be arrested for obstruction of justice as a result of his working with the Arrow on the Dollmaker case. As Lance is being cuffed and read his rights, we learn that Quentin Lance's middle name is what?

Answer: Larry

The Arrow team had devised to set a trap for the Dollmaker. Using Felicity as bait, they stake out each store that sells the special moisturizing cream which the Dollmaker uses to choose his victims, and watch as Felicity goes into the stores and buys the cream.

At the last store, she is grabbed by the Dollmaker. As Felicity screams, Officer Lance, who was nearby, runs to see what is happening and in the process radios for backup. The Dollmaker gets away, and as the police arrive, they arrest Lance for obstruction.

The arresting officer reads him his rights and addresses him as Quentin Larry Lance.
7. When Laurel arrives at the police precinct to release her father from custody, she explains that she is only able to do so because she asked Lieutenant Pike for a favour. She says the only reason Pike even considered doing her such a big favour was because of all the work Laurel has been doing with Lieutenant Pike on which task force?

Answer: The Anti-Vigilante Task Force

Laurel tells her father that she tried to call in a favour from her colleagues at the DA's office, but since she's only been working there for a month, she didn't have any favours to call in yet. The only reason that Lieutenant Pike even considered doing her a favour was because of all the work she'd been doing on the Anti-Vigilante Task Force.
8. When the girl who knows the blonde vigilante is finally found, what does she do when she is confronted and asked about the whereabouts of the blonde vigilante?

Answer: She runs away

Cindy/Sin turns tail and runs away from Roy as fast as she can. She leads Roy on a lengthy chase through the streets of the Glades crossing through a vehicle impound lot until finally running into the abandoned Heritage Hall building. Up in the clock tower, as Roy looks around for Cindy, he gets whacked in the back of the head and is knocked out.
9. When the Dollmaker kidnaps Laurel and Officer Lance, he takes them both back to his hideout where he ties Lance to a pole and prepares to turn Laurel into one of his dolls. Lance, desperate to see his daughter be spared, tries to convince the Dollmaker to let Laurel go. The Dollmaker asks Lance why he would let her go and adds that Laurel is so lovely. The Dollmaker then points out that there is really only one thing wrong with Laurel. What does the Dollmaker say is Laurel's only fault?

Answer: Her skin is too tanned

The Dollmaker specifically says that she has too much melanin in her skin, meaning she's too tanned, but he goes on to say that it is her imperfections that make her sublime. When Lance begs the Dollmaker to just kill him instead of Laurel, the Dollmaker reasons that Laurel is Lance's heart and soul, so killing Laurel is the best way to really destroy Lance because just killing Lance would be too easy.
10. Who finally kills the Dollmaker at the end of the episode?

Answer: The blonde vigilante

The blonde vigilante catches up with the Dollmaker after the Arrow chases him away from Laurel and then loses him in the dark maze of his hideout. The Dollmaker briefly fights with the blonde vigilante and when he drops a pile of pipes on her, he seems to have gotten away. Just then the Arrow emerges from the shadows and fires two arrows at the Dollmaker, pinning him to steel tube with an arrow through each shoulder.

Injured, but not dead, the Dollmaker looks up at the Arrow who tells the Dollmaker that he is going back to prison. Suddenly, from somewhere in the background, the blonde vigilante says "No, he isn't," and pierces her baton through the Dollmaker's heart, killing him.
