At the beginning of this episode, Sharon said this to Tracey, as she listed the foods found in the latter's fridge. "Porridge" was a popular British sitcom, starring Ronnie Barker and Richard Beckinsale, which was set in a prison. Therefore when Sharon mentioned it as a breakfast food, she incurred the wrath of her sister, who told her to shut her face.

When Tracey read the letter her son, Garth, had sent her from boarding school, viewers learned that she had not told him about his father's arrest and subsequent imprisonment. When Sharon, asked her when she was going to tell him the truth, Tracey responded that she'd hoped she could get away with telling him that his father was building a conservatory in the Middle East.

This prompted a straight talking Sharon to respond with, "For eight years...?"

Dorien said these words to Sharon after the latter saw her skulking out of a local kitchen shop. Although Sharon called Dorien's name at least twice, she pretended to ignore her. However when Dorien got to her car, she couldn't get away from Sharon, especially after coming out with the above quotation. An irate Sharon responded to Dorian's insult by indicating that she might tell the latter's husband about her many affairs.

While Tracey was sitting by her pool, a man came to add chlorine to it. It was clear that he was attracted to Tracey, as he tried to chat her up, and even urged her to forget about her husband and get out and meet new people. However he did not bargain on being pushed into the pool, which is precisely what happened next, once Tracey got fed up with his lechery.

After the incident with the pool man, Dorian came round to see Sharon and Tracey, in order to apologise for what she had said about them earlier on in this episode. She also brought them a bunch of flowers as a gift, causing Sharon to ask "So what's happened since half past eleven then? Had the house valued have you? Still worth three quarters of a million is it?"

Answer: His dad, Darryl

While Sharon was swimming in the pool, her nephew, Garth, turned up at the house. Claiming he was never going back to boarding school, Garth told Sharon that his earlier letter had been a coded message, which only his dad, Darryl, would have understood.

He then questioned why his father had not understood it, leading to some awkward moments for Sharon, as Garth's mother, Tracey, had not yet told him about his father's imprisonment.

Unfortunately for Sharon, it was she, and not Tracey, who told Garth the truth about his father's imprisonment. After being the first to see him, and having to deal with some awkward questions, Sharon had no choice but to tell her nephew the truth. In response, Garth locked himself in his parents' bedroom and ripped up his mother's clothes, leaving a stressed Sharon on the other side of the door, pleading with him to open it.

Chris infuriated Darryl by stating that Tracey would not remain faithful to him while he was in prison. The situation was made worse by the fact that both men were listening to a radio programme about infidelity, which played on Darryl's fears. In the end, Chris ended up in plaster, while Darryl was placed in solitary confinement.

Answer: A letter from his dad, which stated that he wanted his son to stay in school and get an education

Although both Tracey and Sharon worked hard to try and get Garth to agree to go back to boarding school, it was his dad's letter which eventually persuaded him. In the letter his father expressed a desire to see his son get some qualifications, so that never needed to turn to crime.

Sadly for Tracey and Sharon, the prison guards would not allow them to see their husbands, because Darryl put Chris in plaster. He was, as a result, placed in solitary confinement. A sad Tracey burst into tears on hearing this, but nothing worked with the guard, and so they had to return home.

The episode ended with Chris lying on his bed, with his arm in a plaster cast, and various plasters on his face.
