Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Lorenzo "Happy" Morales, the victim, was critically injured several times in this episode, with each injury's examination leading to the coroner's determination that something else had caused his death. Which of the following is NOT one of his fatal injuries Happy received?

Answer: Gunshot wound in the back

This is only an abridged list of Happy's injuries from that fateful night. Every time Captain Brass would get a confession out of the guilty party he would inevitably receive a call from the coroner saying Happy's death was due to something other than that which he just ascertained a confession about.
2. Happy experienced an allergic reaction because Doris, the brothel owner's wife, had eaten something that she transmitted to his body through sexual activity. What did she eat that Happy was allergic to?

Answer: Shrimp

Doris had been eating shrimp at the bar and unknowingly passed it along to Happy; her husband was feeding her the shrimp knowing full well that she would engage in sexual activity with Happy and he also knew that Happy was allergic to them. The argument between the husband and wife is later captured by Grissom on the CCTV cameras wired throughout the brothel.

The resulting anaphylactic shock was NOT his cause of death and the arrow through his trachea later that night ended up saving his life, in a way.
3. When the C.S.I.s arrived at the brothel, an elderly man from the neighboring mobile home park is trying to get their attention by telling them that, "Someone shot my _______!" Who did he say was shot?

Answer: his wife

They originally passed his comments off as not being of any value, but when they later had to try and track down the destination of what pierced Happy's neck, the man emerged out of his trailer the next morning carrying a photo of his beloved wife with an arrow stuck between her eyes.
4. Who was given the fun task of collecting everyone's oral DNA swabs?

Answer: Greg

Greg certainly receives considerable comments from the brothel's women, as they all can think of many other ways to collect DNA.
5. When the C.S.I.s arrive at the brothel, they ask the county sheriff whether the coroner was present at the scene. The sheriff theorizes that the coroner was probably working at his full-time profession, as being a coroner was a part-time gig. What was the coroner's full-time job?

Answer: Veterinarian

The sheriff makes a passing, somewhat crude, remark about the coroner probably "out in some barn, up to his elbows in a cow's vagina," which prompts Sara to radio the Vegas office to send a coroner to the scene.
6. Which of the following is NOT one of the reasons the women say they hated Happy?

Answer: Constantly nude

The women were reluctant to disclose how they felt about Happy, so as to not set themselves up as suspects. However, once Brass put a bit more pressure on them for information they wouldn't stop talking about the many things they hated about this man.
7. What book did Dreama say she was reading in her room when Happy was killed?

Answer: Pride and Prejudice

Dreama remarked that she had a "real thing" for Mr. Darcy in the book; you find out later in the episode that Dreama was up to a whole lot more than reading a classic novel, as she not only inflicted his the crowbar blow that fractured his skull, but she also was responsible for Happy's snake venom poisoning.
8. The women are allowed to have weapons in their rooms, as a last resort measure.

Answer: False

When Nick asks Binky he not only says that they are not allowed to have any weapons, but he also responds as if the women will never have anything to worry about regarding their physical safety, which is obviously not true. Nick finds pepper spray, a taser, brass knuckles, switchblade, screwdriver, hunting knives, and the crowbar used to crack Happy's skull.
9. When talking to Greg and processing evidence in the lab, what lab tech C.S.I. goes through the pros and cons of using brothels versus picking up prostitutes on the streets and ends up disclosing that when he was three months shy of his eighteenth birthday he picked up a prostitute that ended up being an undercover police officer?

Answer: Hodges

Greg remarks that he feels bad for the women of the brothel and Hodges begins his speech which continues until he says that fortunately, because he was so close to his eighteenth birthday, the arrest didn't go on his permanent record.
10. What do Doris and Binky prefer to call their employees, rather than hookers?

Answer: Pleasure providers

When Captain Brass refers to them as hookers, Doris makes the distinction that "hooking" is what girls do on the streets, while these women are "pleasure providers," since their work is considered far safer and domesticated.
